I was just saying not long ago that I hoped one day someone would recognize me and say hi. Sometimes I notice people looking my way, and I wonder if they know me, but no one ever says anything.

Well… yesterday this beautiful soul came right up to me, was so excited to meet me, and we just had to snap a picture together! 📸

I want to take a moment to share something very special about my little cousin, Carl Jr. 🪶

Carl has been given an incredible opportunity to continue his hockey journey with the Hanna Havoc USPHL Premier team for the 2026/2027 season. This is more than just hockey — it is an opportunity for growth, discipline, leadership, education, and building a future through sport.

Carl has worked hard both on and off the ice, and opportunities like this require a huge commitment from young athletes and their families. Junior hockey comes with many costs, including training, travel, equipment, and program fees.

Our Existence Is Our Resistance. 🪶🌲❤️

This weekend, my love surprised us with a cabin getaway, far away from the noise of everyday life. No cell service. No notifications. Just us, the trees, and the quiet.

I’ll be honest—it was uncomfortable at first. I kept wondering what I was missing, who might need me, and what was happening in the world. It almost felt wrong to be disconnected.

But after about 12 hours… I remembered something we’ve forgotten.

Peace.

We watched DVDs, played board games, laughed until our cheeks hurt, and sat in awe of the beautiful log cabin nestled among the towering trees. Time slowed down. Conversations became deeper. The silence became comforting instead of uncomfortable.

It reset my mind.
It healed my body.
It nourished my spirit.
It awakened my soul.

It reminded me of my childhood, when life was simpler and our greatest adventures happened outdoors instead of behind a screen. I found myself thinking of the loved ones who’ve walked on before me, and somehow, in that stillness, I felt closer to them than I have in a long time.

Nature has a way of bringing us home—to ourselves, to our ancestors, and to Creator.

In a world that constantly demands more of us, choosing to slow down is an act of resistance.

Our existence is our resistance.
Existing fully.
Loving deeply.
Resting intentionally.
Laughing freely.
Healing unapologetically.
Remembering who we are.

We are so incredibly fortunate to have places like this right at our fingertips. If you’ve been carrying the weight of the world, I encourage you to put it down, even if only for a weekend.

Unplug.

Breathe.

Reconnect.

Your mind, body, spirit, and soul deserve that gift.

✨ Braids By Jen Update ✨

I started winding down my appointments at the end of June, and taking July off was something that was very important to me. I truly believe we all need at least a month to rest, recharge, and rejuvenate — not only our bodies, but our souls. ❤️🪶

I’ll be back for some amazing events at the end of July, the beginning and end of August, and I also have a week-long event booked in September. After that, I’ll be starting to wind down again as I prepare for my Christmas break. 🎄✨

A little reminder to everyone: do what makes your heart happy. Take the time to rest, spend time with your family, and enjoy the moments that matter. Life moves so quickly, and we all deserve time to breathe.

I’ll still be sharing pictures from my travels, events, and traditional summer activities — but this is also my little reminder that if I don’t reply to messages right away, I will get back to you when I can. ❤️
