LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FOR SETTLERS

The Land Acknowledgement is a formal statement recognizing the unique and enduring relationship that exists between Indigenous Peoples and their traditional territories. (indigenous.Toronto.ca)

It is important to remember when offering a Land Acknowledgement that colonialism isn’t something of the past; it is ongoing and present today.

While it is a step toward Reconciliation to offer Land Acknowledgments in a good way. It is even more important to remember that Truth must come first.

And this where Land Acknowledgements must also address Land Back and speak to the ways that settlers have occupied Indigenous Lands, "governments" have broken treaties and the lands and waters are meant to be in stewardship of Indigenous Peoples so that we can be in good reciprocity with the Earth and each other.

It's a matter of Justice but its also critically important for the health of our earth, the biodiversity and stopping climate change.

So wherever you go remember, this is Indigenous Land.

A "Robot Lawyer" will defend a human in court for the first time in history.

Enabled by DoNotPay application, it will listen to court arguments in real time and will advice the defendant what to respond via an earpiece.
The defendant will only say what the DoNotPay AI will instruct, New Scientist, a science and technology website reported. The location or defendant's name is yet to be disclosed. The in-person speeding ticket hearing is scheduled to take place in a U.S. courtroom sometime in February.

"We are trying to minimise our legal liability," DoNotPay founder and CEO, Joshua Browder was quoted as saying by New Scientist. "And it’s not good if it actually twists facts and is too manipulative."

The AI will reportedly analyse the courtroom arguments instead of responding to every statement made in the court.
According to company, this will be more affordable than expensive lawyers. They will be soon publically available to work.
