I’ve been doing makeup for years, but since I’ve really leaned into the hair side of my career lately, you may not know just how much I love being part of a bride’s morning.

After 20+ weddings this year, I wanted to share a few of the bridal looks I’ve had the honour of creating. Soft, glowy, elevated and always customized to make each bride feel like the very best version of herself.

This is what five hours of customized colour, curl knowledge and protecting the integrity of the hair looks like 👀

We took her completely virgin hair into this warm, dimensional brunette using a combination of foils, base breaking and balayage, followed by a root smudge and custom tone.

Before I colour your hair, I want to understand how you style it because dimensional colour is never one placement fits all. Whether you wear your texture natural, smoothed or switch between both, I design the brightness, depth and placement around how your hair needs to move and fall.

When lightening naturally curly hair, maintaining strength and elasticity is just as important as the final colour. I used L'Oréal Professionnel Paris Metal Detox to neutralize metals within the hair that can react during colouring, contribute to breakage and affect the final result. I followed with Kérastase Première to remove excess calcium buildup, repair damage and bring back softness, movement and shine.

I finished her with the SteamPod, the only tool I use for my silk presses. Its continuous steam helps me create a sleek, polished finish with fewer passes while maintaining softness, shine and movement. We want silk, not stiff.

I’ll be honest, Dia Light wasn’t always the toner I reached for first, but the more I’ve worked with it, the more I’ve come to love it.

The updated formula with hyaluronic acid has completely changed the experience for me. The hair feels soft and conditioned, and the shine is unreal. It gives that reflective, expensive-looking finish without the colour feeling heavy or too opaque.

I also love how versatile it is. I can use it to create everything from creamy blondes and lived-in beige tones to rich brunettes, coppers and reds all while keeping dimension in the hair.

Kérastase has become such a huge part of how I approach hair behind the chair, not because everyone needs a 10-step routine, but because I love being able to look at someone’s hair, understand what it needs, and actually know why I’m reaching for a certain product.

This is one of those colours that we’ve been refining together for over a year now, and honestly… it’s become one of my favourites to create 🍒

Every appointment starts by shifting her base with L'Oréal Professionnel Paris INOA to create a rich, healthy foundation with incredible shine. From there, I add open air balayage through the mids and ends to create soft ribbons of light and movement without harsh lines. Everything is finished with a custom vivid red gloss that melts it all together into a colour that looks different from every angle.

It’s the difference between red hair and dimensional red hair.

Reds are high maintenance, but they don’t have to fade fast. That’s why I’m such a huge fan of Kérastase Chroma Absolu. Red and vivid pigments naturally fade quicker because they’re larger molecules that sit closer to the outside of the hair. Chroma helps keep the hair fibre healthy and the cuticle smooth, which means those pigments have a better chance of staying where they belong. More shine, less fading, and that rich, glossy finish lasts so much longer. If you’re going to invest in a colour like this, investing in the right home care is what protects it.

This is the kind of colour that turns heads because there’s so much depth to it. And that’s exactly why I’ll never get tired of creating it.
