Unapologetically choose yourself everyday.

Selfcare isn't selfish, it's knowing your worth and adding tax, it's survival with style, it's understanding what you deserve and making sure you get it.

Self-care is not a destination; it is a journey you choose to keep taking.

It begins with the small decisions you make every day to care for yourself with the same kindness, patience, and attention you so freely give to everyone else.

Self-care is nourishing your body instead of constantly running it on empty. It is finding quiet moments for your mind when life feels overwhelming. It is recognizing your needs without apologizing for having them. It is protecting your time and energy. And sometimes, it is simply reminding yourself that you deserve the love you are always giving away.

The beautiful thing about self-care is that it doesn’t require perfection.

You don’t have to change your entire life overnight.

Start small.
Choose one thing today that makes you feel a little more cared for. Take the longer shower. Moisturize your skin. Sit quietly with your coffee. Go outside. Turn your phone off for a while. Say no to something you don’t have the energy for. Rest before you reach exhaustion.

Those little moments begin to add up.

And eventually, caring for yourself becomes less of something you have to remember to do and more of a way you choose to live.

Nourish your body.
Calm your mind.
Honour your needs.
Protect your time.
Love yourself.

Because you deserve care not occasionally, not when everything else is finished, but always.

Small steps today. A better you tomorrow.

Sometimes the smallest choice to care for yourself can change more than you realize.

Self-care does not have to begin with a complete lifestyle change. It does not have to be expensive, complicated, or perfectly planned.

Sometimes it begins with something incredibly small.

Going to bed a little earlier. Drinking more water. Taking ten quiet minutes for yourself. Stepping outside for fresh air. Saying no when you are already overwhelmed. Putting your phone down. Taking a long shower. Choosing something nourishing for your body. Giving yourself permission to rest without feeling as though you need to earn it.

Those little choices may not feel life-changing in the moment, but they add up.

One small act becomes another. A healthier boundary becomes easier to protect. Rest becomes something you value instead of something you feel guilty about. You begin paying attention to what your body, mind, and heart actually need.

And slowly, self-care stops being something you occasionally do and becomes part of the way you choose to live.

You do not have to change everything today.

Just do one small thing that tells yourself, “I matter too.”

Because the smallest act of self-care really can become the beginning of a healthier, calmer, and more fulfilling life.

Be proud of your progress and still make room for who you are becoming.

Sometimes we become so focused on what we still need to change, improve, heal, or accomplish that we forget to look back and recognize just how far we have already come.

Think about the things you once struggled with that you now handle differently. The boundaries you have learned to set. The situations you have survived. The lessons you had to learn the hard way. The moments when you chose yourself, even when it wasn’t easy.

That growth deserves to be acknowledged.

Being proud of yourself doesn’t mean you have finished growing. And wanting more for your life doesn’t mean who you are today isn’t enough.

You can celebrate the person you are and continue becoming the person you want to be.

You can appreciate your progress and still have dreams.

You can be healing and still have difficult days.

You can love yourself exactly where you are and give yourself permission to keep growing.

You don’t have to choose between being proud of how far you’ve come and being excited about how much further you can go.

Keep growing, but don’t forget to celebrate yourself along the way.

A Personal Note… When we moved and began our new life, it didn’t come peacefully. It came with what felt like an endless battle.

For years after my separation, I had gotten used to keeping my head down, accommodating, and doing whatever I could to keep the peace. It was a learned behaviour from a 22-year relationship. Even after finding the strength to leave, I was still used to being told what was acceptable and adjusting myself around everyone else.

I didn’t push for support. I didn’t push for help. I carried the responsibilities, sacrificed myself, and kept going because I thought that was the easiest way to protect my children from more conflict.

Then my self-care journey started changing me.

I began realizing that keeping the peace was not the same as having peace.

I started looking at what my children needed, especially with school, bullying, and the support they were receiving. That search eventually brought me to Gull Lake.

I visited the school here, and something in me just knew.

This was where we needed to be.

I tried reasoning, explaining, and asking for understanding, but I kept being told no.

Eventually, I realized this was our life too.

For the first time, I stopped waiting for permission and made the decision I believed was right for my children and myself.

It was terrifying. It came with conflict, sacrifice, and battles I never wanted to fight.

But I stood my ground.

And we stayed.

Now, looking at the life we are building here, I know that sometimes the scariest decisions are the ones that lead you exactly where you need to be.

I spent years believing that staying quiet and accommodating others would bring me peace.

It never did.

Finding my voice did.

Standing up for the life we deserved did.

Sometimes peace doesn’t come from avoiding the thing you are afraid of.

Sometimes it comes from finally facing it.

Not every season of growth looks like blooming.

There will be seasons when everything seems to be falling into place—when you feel confident, energized, inspired, and proud of how far you’ve come.

And then there will be quieter seasons.

Seasons when progress feels slow. When you are resting more, rebuilding, setting boundaries, healing old wounds, learning difficult lessons, or simply trying to find your footing again.

Those seasons matter just as much.

A tree doesn’t spend all of its energy producing leaves and blossoms. Sometimes its most important work is happening beneath the surface—strengthening its roots so it can withstand whatever comes next.

Your life can be the same.

You don’t have to be constantly achieving, improving, or proving that you are growing. Sometimes growth looks like becoming stronger inside. Sometimes it looks like choosing peace. Sometimes it is learning what you will no longer accept.

Some seasons are for blooming, and others are for strengthening your roots. Both are essential to growth.

Trust the season you’re in. Something beautiful may be taking shape long before anyone else can see it.

Self-care starts with listening.

So often, we keep pushing through the tiredness, the stress, the overwhelm, and the endless list of things that still need to be done. We tell ourselves we’ll rest later… slow down later… take care of ourselves when everything else is finished.

But sometimes exhaustion is simply our body and mind asking us to pay attention.

Self-care isn’t always a spa day or a perfect morning routine. Sometimes it’s saying no without guilt. Taking a quiet evening. Going to bed early. Stepping away from something that is draining you. Asking for help. Or simply admitting, “I need a little time for me.”

You don’t have to wait until you’re completely exhausted to give yourself permission to rest.

Listen to yourself before exhaustion has to speak for you.

Rest is productive.
Boundaries are healthy.
Your needs matter too.

Self-care is not selfish—it is necessary.

So many of us spend our days caring for everyone and everything around us. We manage responsibilities, solve problems, keep moving, and often place our own needs at the very bottom of the list. But you cannot continue pouring from an empty cup.

Self-care does not need to be elaborate or expensive. It can be a warm bath, a relaxing shower, a few quiet minutes, a favourite scent, nourishing your skin, taking a deep breath, or simply allowing yourself to rest without guilt.

These small moments matter. They can help you slow down, restore balance, reconnect with yourself, and return to your day feeling a little more grounded and cared for.

At Homemade by the Mrs Inc., we create natural, handcrafted skin, body, bath, and wellness products designed to turn everyday routines into meaningful moments of care. Whether you exfoliate, moisturize, nourish, restore, or refresh, each small ritual is another way of reminding yourself:

You deserve to feel amazing in your skin.
You deserve time for yourself.
You deserve care, too.

Self-care is not a one-time task—it is a lifelong love story. Start today with one small act of kindness toward yourself.

What is one simple thing you can do for yourself today?

Every boundary you honour, every quiet moment you protect, and every need you acknowledge is part of your growth.

Growth is not always loud or easy to see. Sometimes, it looks like saying no without giving a long explanation. It looks like stepping away from what drains you, protecting time to rest, or finally admitting that something no longer feels right.

Sometimes, growth is choosing not to ignore yourself just to keep everyone else comfortable.

The boundaries you create are not walls meant to shut people out. They are a way of protecting your energy, emotional well-being, and the parts of yourself that need care. The quiet moments you choose are not wasted time; they give you space to breathe, reflect, heal, and reconnect with who you are.

Every time you listen to your needs instead of dismissing them, you are teaching yourself that you matter.

You do not need to feel guilty for protecting your peace. You are allowed to make room for rest, kindness, and the life you are working so hard to build.

Not all growth is visible, but every time you choose yourself with love, you are moving forward.

What is one boundary or quiet moment you are choosing to honour today?

So many of us have learned to treat rest as a reward something we are only permitted after every task is finished, everyone else is cared for, and we have pushed ourselves as far as we can go.

But rest is not something you must earn by becoming exhausted.

Kindness is not something you deserve only when you have made no mistakes. Care is not reserved for the days when you are productive, cheerful, strong, or easy for others to understand.

You deserve compassion on the difficult days too.

You deserve rest when your body is tired.
You deserve kindness when you are struggling.
You deserve care when you do not have everything figured out.
You deserve patience while you heal and grow.

Your worth is not measured by how much you accomplish, how much you sacrifice, or how well you hide what you are carrying. You do not have to prove that your needs are important enough to be acknowledged.

You are human—and that alone makes you worthy of gentleness, support, and love.

Today, offer yourself the same kindness you would so freely give to someone you care about. You deserve to receive it too.
