Nicole and I are excited to share that we're now a small family of three. Just last week, we welcomed our first son, Micah Ryan Parent.
If you placed an order over the past couple weeks, or simply wrote us with a question, we may not have had the chance to followup with you, and apologize for any trouble this may have caused.
We're hoping to work through messages this evening, and all orders should be shipped within the next couple days. If you have absolutely any questions, thoughts, or concerns in the meantime, please don't hesitate to write, and we'll do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
Otherwise, we can't wait to start a new adventure with Micah, and look forward to introducing you to him soon.
Thanks again, friends!
- Chris and Nicole

Charcoal has been used medicinally for millennia. The Ancient Egyptians used it to clean wounds, the Hindus used it to filter water, and early pharmacists and chemists used it to protect patients from toxins, and as an antidote for poison.
Our Activated Charcoal Soap builds on previous research and practices, designed to clarify and detoxify the skin, while also being extremely hydrating.
The unique blend of oils and butters will benefit those with dry skin, and the addition of Activated Charcoal is great for those with oily skin, working to absorb excess oil and alleviate the appearance of skin conditions.
Regardless of your skin type, consider our Activated Charcoal Soap as a great alternative to harsher cleansers.

I'm stoked to share our latest project, an open concept Box - left for you to fill with whatever you please. My suggestion? Use it to gift a bottle of Beard Oil and a Brush. Actually, why not add a Beard Comb? Cut from the same boards, they complement each other perfectly.
We kept things simple so our Boxes can be used time-and-time again and aren't limited to our products. Use them to store photos, collectables, cash - whatever you like.

If you noticed I haven't been posting much lately, I apologize. It's not that I don't want to keep you in the loop, it's not that I've been on vacation, and it's definitely not that I haven't been working on much. In fact, it's quite the contrary.
Over the past few months I've been working on things that I've always wanted to pursue.
Just this past November, I was hit with a tough reality and found myself stuck. Not in my personal life, but with LONE WOODS. To those of you who follow LONE WOODS, you likely see it as a small business that sells Beard Oil, Lip Balm, and a few other accessories at local markets, and I understand that. But like many other business owners, I see LONE WOODS as my passion, my craft, and my baby. Least of all, I see it as my business, and I often forget it's how I earn my living.
Either way, in November, the fate of LONE WOODS was up in the air for a bit, and it took a toll on me because of all the things I mentioned above. I didn't speak much about it, mostly because I knew things would come together, and they did, but I feel like now is a good time to explain my absence, or at least to shed light on any unusual doings. With the help of talented friends and family, we got through the Christmas Rush the best we could, and afterward I sat down to really evaluate where LONE WOODS was going, and to remind myself of how I envisioned it from the beginning. In the process, I realized there were a few things I needed to do, and I'm in the process of completing them now.
I put together my own workshop in January and have been working on acquiring essential equipment, creating new products, and learning new techniques with wood since. At the same time, I've been trying to find an hour or two here and there to cut labels, craft products, pour products, and label bottles and tins - the usual stuff, though every bit as important.
Just today, Nicole and I announced that we're expecting a child in the Fall, man what a feeling! Not only am I thinking about the Fall and how busy we'll be heading into the Christmas Rush, but that I have many things I need to do before then so I can balance both my business life and my personal life (though as I said, they often coincide), and ultimately enjoy time with my small family come October.
That brings me to tomorrow, when I begin work on one of my biggest projects to date. Together with another talented person, we're going to show you exactly what I envisioned for LONE WOODS from day one. I can't tell you much more because even I don't know what's to come, but this is another step in the process, and I hope you'll follow along. A few months into the year, I can now say that 2017 is going to be an amazing year for LONE WOODS, and I hope to have you along. Stayed tuned, friends.
