One of the most significant benefits of building with natural materials isn’t quantified, and is rarely discussed.
It’s a sense of calm that these living materials seem to radiate.
After walking hundreds of people through our natural building, it’s something I’ve seen again and again. People relax. They breathe differently. They slow down to soak it in.
There are no clean metrics for it, and very little language around it in the industry, but this experience seems to be almost universally felt.
I think it has something to do with the way light moves across these surfaces, the texture, and the fact that the materials haven’t been pushed too far from their original state. They are indeed natural.
Absolutely love having you all enjoy the H**p@house the way you do.

He helps me relax and be calm, while always cheering me on when I have my bursts of energy and I’m ready to go.
Snacks all day and night. (Sometimes I make snacks too)
But for the most part I am a kept wife.
I work my ass off. I mother. I make all the arrangements. Plan trips. Rescue the dogs.
But let me tell you. This guy takes care of me.
He makes my life calm and cool. Like the cucumbers in the fresh morning dew.

Update on Captain Bamboos new family and life style.
He took his first vacation this weekend.
He loves the ocean and visiting with the seals.
He can swim.
He likes the boat.
Salmon skin is a favorite of his for sure.
He also likes crab meat.
Fresh from the ocean.
He caught it himself today. With the girls help.
He was amazed at how the rocks break open the crab for him. As he waits patiently while we all enjoy.
Surgery in two days.
I think he’s going to be calmer and his eye is going to feel so much better soon.
