We started with a fresh cut, then I hand painted through her lengths before finishing with a Dia Light gloss to deposit this gorgeous ruby tone — all while leaving her natural base untouched.

I love colour like this because it feels bold without feeling high maintenance. You still get all that beautiful natural depth underneath, with flashes of red that really come alive in the light.

A little dramatic. A little unexpected.
And very, very fun to create. ❤️‍🔥

A few weeks ago, I sat in the front row for Tracey Cunningham soaking up her celebrity colourist approach to hair, and I’ve been thinking about her approach to subtle, dimensional colour ever since.

Then my client came in requesting exactly that — a very subtle enhancement to her natural level 5/6 hair.

Excellent timing, because L'Oréal Professionnel Paris has just launched their new Blond Studio No Bleach Lightening Cream. (Perfect for that subtle shift!)

We kept the placement minimal, letting her natural colour remain the star. The formula lifted beautifully to the perfect soft caramel, and we then we glossed with Dia Light 6/6.1 at the root + 7.8 Mocha Gloss throughout the rest.

Just enough dimension to catch the light.
Super low maintenance.

My kiddo wanted fresh layers + blue hair for back to school, so naturally, as a mom-stylist, I had to make it happen. 🙌🏼💙

No pre-lightening necessary! She already had some hand-painted balayage done last spring, and she was only looking for blue on the ends.

Normally, as a colourist, I’d say no blue over golden blonde ⚠️ — but this is one of those situations where tonal perfection and longevity just aren’t the goal.

She’s 11. She wanted something fun, temporary, and completely damage-free to start the school year with a little extra personality. 🤟🏼✨

And honestly… I’m pretty sure this is exactly what being a kid with a hairstylist mom is for. 😂💙

The education. The inspiration. The friendships. The beautiful moments. The ridiculously good hair. And a whole lot of memories that definitely didn’t fit in my suitcase. 😂

I came to Fort Lauderdale for BTC and left feeling recharged, inspired, and reminded of exactly why I love this industry.

I'm currently looking for a few 18+ models for upcoming creative colour and hair projects this year working alongside my husband Aaron AKA Eikonic Design with his amazing photography and editing skills.

I'm especially interested in someone who is open to trying something a little different and would enjoy having their hair transformed in exchange for participating in a professional photoshoot.

This could be a great opportunity for a younger adult who loves experimenting with their hair, wants professional photos of their new look, or simply wants to be part of the creative process.

Last year's nonomination felt like a dream.This year's feels surreal! ✨

There was a time when owning a business felt completely out of reach. I had ten years behind the chair, two little ones on my hips, and no idea exactly how it would all unfold.

Just like dimension in blonde hair isn't created from one single color, our growth isn't created from easy seasons alone. It's the contrast. The challenges. The moments we thought we couldn't handle but somehow did.

Corrective colour transformations like this one are never just about “going lighter.” ✨

My client had previously used dark box colour at home, which left the ends significantly darker than her natural root. Our goal for this first session was to reverse that visual weight — creating softer depth at the root while bringing brightness and dimension back through the mids and ends.

This transformation required nearly 2 hours of detailed balayage foil work alone, carefully lifting through artificial pigment with one formula, and the virginwhile protecting the integrity of the hair every step of the way.

One of the biggest heroes during services like this is the L'Oréal Professionnel Metal Detox system. When hair has a history of box colour, mineral buildup, or unknown colour history, maintaining the health and feel of the hair becomes just as important as the final result itself.

And THAT is what I’m most proud of here: not only the colour shift… but how incredibly healthy, soft, and strong her hair still felt afterward. 🤍

Corrective colour is a process, but this first session was such a stunning reset.

Once you can step outside the character you've played most of your life, you can more clearly see where you've been blocking your own light.
Resolve your old beliefs. Expand your thinking to include concepts you've never considered before — because the next few years are going to be a ride.
