My post for the week 😏 because I’m busy building a salon, working full time behind the chair, running an existing business and being a mom. 🤹

A wise friend once shared that there are two types of people in this world: “ME people” and “WE people.” I proudly identify as a “WE” person. I thrive in collaboration, finding joy and strength in teamwork.

As a leader, I recognize that I don’t have all the answers, and I value the diverse perspectives within my circle. Together, we create a powerful support system—when I lift others up, they uplift me in return.

For me, true leadership begins with a “ME” but ultimately evolves into “WE”. 🤝

**Why Referring to Hair Colors with Trendy Words or Food Descriptions Might not be the Best Idea**

Using trendy terms like “pumpkin spice” or “cowboy copper” to describe hair colors can be more confusing than helpful. Here’s why:

1. **Vague Interpretations**
Descriptive terms can mean different things to different people. One stylist’s “chocolate” might be another’s “espresso,” leading to potential mismatches.

2. **Cultural Differences**
Food and trendy descriptors can have various meanings across cultures, complicating communication and resulting in colors that don’t match your vision.

3. **The Power of Visuals**
Photos provide clarity that words often cannot. Showing your stylist an image helps eliminate ambiguity and ensures everyone is on the same page.

Did you know I specialize in long hair cutting? Being a long hair girly myself I totally get the “I want something new but keep all the length” comment more than you know. The truth is, long hair does have limitations when it comes to haircuts especially if our hair is on the finer side. That’s why it’s important to choose a stylist that knows these boundaries so that the integrity of the length isn’t compromised. Sometimes keeping my long hair fans happy means saying NO, because I know their length is more important than the itch to change 😝

Balayage: A Word with Many Meanings and still a complete mystery.

Ever wondered what balayage really means in the hair world? 🤔 Some stylists say it’s an overall look, while others swear it’s all about the technique used to achieve those dreamy highlights. Let’s not forget the actual definition! A French word for sweeping. As in, sweeping the bleach onto the hair.

At the end of the day, it seems that in our fabulous hair community, balayage is a bit of a mystery—each stylist has their own interpretation of it! 🎨💖
