Spending some time sharing a love for Harry Potter, Lego and celebrating the magic that was created on screen over the years. Grateful we can keep reliving that and sharing it with the small humans ❤

In our house we don't do Elf on the Shelf but we have Mr. JINGLES. He's a grumpkin- and we bought him from a dear friend . Mr. JINGLES showed up with our reusable advent calendar a few years ago. He doesn't do crazy stuff, but faithfully cuddles with us through the whole holiday season. He's got a jingle bell in his tail and the tears in little dudes eyes are genuinely joyful. He loves Mr. JINGLES and asks about him all year round. It was like reuniting with an old friend and little dude has included his friend in everything today. Families have different traditions and I feel so lucky that this is one we get to share ❤

A little to celebrate my !
It was an amazing day- I got to sleep in (and do a full face of makeup in less than 7 minutes so we were late!), we did my ring inspection, went for lunch and some shopping, a special treat, dinner and an epic Mario Kart racing battle 🏁 (spoiler alert I never win 😆 🤣 😂)
And the best part? (Aside from spending it with people I love!) I spent all last year thinking I was a year older than I really am- so technically this year I aged backwards/did some cool time travel thing! 😎

Happy Halloween 🎃
The key here is 'happy'. I love the holidays. In the past I've put waaaaay too much pressure on things being done 'perfect' and then feeling disappointed.
The good thing with COVID is I'm a bit more flexible, and my goal is 'good enough'.
The secret I've learned though? By giving up the need for it to be perfect, it's creating all sorts of perfectly happy and epic memories 💋

Three years ago I had something go super wrong with my eyes. It meant I had to stop wearing contacts, and I couldn't wear eye makeup. As a redhead, with blooooonde eyelashes I felt so unattractive. No contacts, no makeup.
It was heck of an experience in learning to love myself as I was. I learned to show compassion to the woman I saw in the mirror. The one who, at first, had to summon all her courage just to face the world (with that naked fsce). The one who felt like such an ugly duckling at parties and events.
Three years later I can finally wear gentle and safe makeup (thank you SEINT). I can wear contacts. But you know what? I don't NEED to. In fact I have learned to love my glasses, and feel naked without them.
The moral of this long story? Learn to love yourself. As your very barest, most naked and vulnerable self. Let yourself show that same compassion and openess to the person looking back at you from the mirror. Love yourself and just watch how you blossom when you stop worrying about what other people think 💋

Swipe for joy.
Also, sick flow dude.
This is your reminder to slow down and remember to find the reason to be joyful. Sometimes it's because you are breathing and awake. Sometimes it's because you won the lottery. Sometimes it's because you made an epic meal, or painted your nails with no smudges, or got some sweet snacks.
There's joy to be found in a million little moments. Remember to open yourself and just run head long towards whatever the flapperjacks brings you joy.
No seriously. Go. I'll wait. (Share your joyful thing in the comments, ignite that spark for someone else today!)

Every morning the boys and I start the day outside.
Them because I don't want no turd nuggets waiting for me when I get home.
Me because I need to take the time to connect with nature, grounding my feet into the cool grass. I take a few minutes to start with a few body weight exercises to wake me up (the dogs look at me like I'm an absolute ridiculous flailing unbalanced fool). I take the quiet peace to reflect on all the things in this life I'm grateful for l, and I do my affirmations and a short meditation (and meditation doesn't NEED to be yoga pretzels in dead silence).
How do you start your mornings? Share in the comments! 💋

So today at work I was asked by a random co worker if I was pregnant. I'm not, just fat, and that's cool.
I wrote about the experience on my blog, I'll put the link in my bio.
It was one of those things that I really struggled with. It triggered me in a big way. Not only did it shatter my self esteem a bit, it also reminded me that for the last two and a half years of trying, we're not pregnant. And I had just more or less come to terms with that, and felt empowered moving forward.
Anyway, long story short, my body is nobodies business. Not how I look. Not how I choose to procreate or not. Not what I wear. Not how I fuel it. It's mine and mine alone. I'm going to love it for all of thr amazing things it offers me. I might not always like it, but hot damn I'm going to love it. 😍
I encourage you to love your body too.

Today T asked if we could plant some plants. (It's pouring rain and cold. It's been pouring rain and cold all day).
At first I explained that we couldn't, citing the terrible weather. But he kept asking.
T is excellent at shifting perspective and FINDING A WAY. He pointed out that I still had some 'jars' inside and the little plants had their own dirt. He of course was right.
It turned into a fun little activity of making a Spiderman plant in a Spiderman themed jar, with Spiderman themes rocks and sand. Can you tell its his favorite? 😆
The point, sometimes we get so stuck in our own version of the truth that we can't see the magic waiting just outside the limits we impose ourself.
What would you create if you could see past the barriers you set yourself? Leave your answer below 💋
