I’m not sure if I’ve shared our family’s story before on this platform. If you’ve been following me for years, you know our story.

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. I share this not for people to pity us, but in remembrance of our son, who is no longer with us.

In 2018, we were expecting another healthy baby. But our world was shaken apart when he was born sleeping after I experienced a virus that crossed through my placenta and affected our son without us knowing.

We never did pinpoint the exact virus, but influenza was particularly bad that year. During pregnancy, the immune system is naturally altered, and sometimes infections can affect the placenta and baby in ways we don’t know are happening.

I share this not to push anything, but simply to bring awareness that these things do happen. We need to be vigilant and take illness seriously, especially around pregnant women. 1 in 4 women experience pregnancy loss and 1 in 250 women experience late trimester stillbirths. I am 1 in 250 women. Our son was born sleeping on January 8th, 2018 at 30 weeks gestation.

I used to share a lot more of our story, and over the years, my voice has helped others directly, whether that was someone sitting in my chair or someone following along and being reminded that we can do whatever we want with our dreams, no matter our background or the trauma that life continues to throw at some of us. ❤️

We will always miss you, Beckham. But it is because of you that I continue to educate, grow, and persevere. 🤍

We were so excited to be a small part of the CCMA weekend and work with artists represented by BMG Records, along with some pretty amazing partners like Apple Music, Amazon Music and Spotify.

We were so busy behind the scenes that there really wasn’t much time to take pictures or create content. But honestly, we were too busy taking it all in!

This is why I love this industry. The opportunities, the networking, the people you meet and getting to be part of things you never imagined you would be part of.

And of course… getting to do some really great hair along the way. 🤎

What an experience. We are so grateful we got to be a small part of it!
