My Makeup by April Dawn Community Makeup Masterclasses are officially open for Fall + Winter bookings!

For the past 14 years, I’ve built my career as a professional makeup artist, educator and entrepreneur. Throughout those years, I’ve perfected my own signature 20-step makeup routine, the same process and professional techniques I use in my own work.

And now I bring that knowledge directly into communities.

My masterclasses are a hands-on makeup artistry experience where participants learn my complete 20 step routine from beginning to end. We cover skin preparation and product knowledge, foundation matching, complexion, brows, eyeshadow and blending, lashes, contour, blush, highlight, finishing techniques and how to complete a full professional makeup application.

Participants aren’t just watching a demonstration. They’re learning, practicing and receiving guidance as they work through the techniques themselves.

For my certification classes, participants who successfully complete the training leave as a Certified Makeup Artist.

That means they leave with more than a fun experience. They leave with knowledge, confidence and a skill they can continue building on, whether makeup becomes something they love doing for themselves, a creative outlet, a side income or the beginning of their own path in the beauty industry.

As a multi award winning Makeup Artist, one of the most meaningful parts of my career has been being able to take everything I’ve learned over the last 14 years and share it with others.

And while makeup is what brings us together, these classes have always been about more than makeup.

Confidence. Self-care. Creativity. Self-expression. Skill building.

I want participants to experience the feeling of learning something new, seeing what they’re capable of and walking away proud of something they created themselves.

Every masterclass can also be customized for the people you’re serving.

For youth and teens, programming can focus on confidence building, creativity, positive self-expression, learning new skills and introducing participants to opportunities within the beauty industry.

For adults and women’s programming, we can focus on self-care, confidence, professional makeup techniques and developing skills that can be used personally or professionally.

This makes the program a great fit for First Nations & Métis communities, schools, youth programs, women’s programming, wellness and self-care initiatives, employment and skills-development programming, conferences, health organizations, community events and gatherings.

Tansi! I’m April Dawn, the face behind Makeup by April Dawn.

I’m an award-winning Makeup Artist, educator, photographer, and entrepreneur with over 14 years of experience in the beauty industry. What started as a love for makeup has turned into a career that has taken me throughout Canada, working with some incredible people, communities, and organizations along the way.

Over the years, my work has grown into so much more than makeup, and I’m excited for what’s next. I’m looking forward to taking on new opportunities, travelling to new communities, and working on more creative projects.

I’m currently available for photography and professional headshots, makeup applications for events and special occasions, and makeup masterclasses for communities and organizations.

I genuinely love what I do and the people I get to meet through it. After 14+ years, I’m still excited about where this career can take me next.

2026 FSIN Senior Men’s Hockey Champions 🏆 Red Pheasant Snipers

Had the opportunity to photograph the Red Pheasant Snipers Community Supper celebrating their 2026 FSIN Senior Men’s Hockey Championship!

It was a great evening celebrating the team with dinner, awards, and the presentation of their championship rings. 💍🏆

Congratulations to the Red Pheasant Snipers on an incredible season and a well-deserved championship!
