Try entering the ingredients in Google. In several instances Ihave found that the product comes from a wholesaler who may or may not even be in the country.

I have had to revert to using carefully sourced bases and customizing for my clients. I am honest about that.

Makes me a little bit sick that so many people are being taken. Skin care formulation is HARD WORK and it requires training and practice so....this is just a little PSA from me to my community.

One of the things I get asked a lot is if I use radio frequency microneedling...which is the latest generation of devices. Of course in Canada you muat use a Health Canada approved device and these come at a very high cost. $50k and up. (way up). In addition, the per session consumables can also be pricey.

This means a single session fee, with 3 to 5 ALWAYS recommended, regardless of modality, will quadruple my current fees and I will will only profit about the same amount.

The marketing machine behind these devices is massive. This I know without question.

And, yet, I have spoken to practitioners who have used both mechanical and radio frequency needling and have yet to hear of results significant enough to warrant the extra fee cost.

So unless and until I see it scientifically AND visually in before and afters Ima sticking to basics because I know what I can achieve. I also know when results plateau when to say to a client....thats as much as this can do short of surgery...now it is time for maintenance and ongoing care.

Ingredient alert. As most of you know, Vitamin C, next to Vitamin A (Retinol, Retin A) is the number one most important ingredient in your skin care for anti aging, protection from UVA/UVB, anti oxidant. It does for your skin what it does for your body.....which is to keep it healthy and get it healthy.

However, Vitamin C in skin care is notoriously unstable and difficult to work with. When your product states it contains vitamin c it is important to check the source. I can add Vitamin C to anything I want, but it is rendered useless within short order due to moisture and air exposure.

There are other versions, such as tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate which is oil soluble and much more stable and I do use that, but it costs me, as a formulator $65 USD and ounce. It is effective but not any more effective...just more stable.

SO, ENTER FULLERENE, AKA C60, BUCKMINSTERFULLERENE! This is an ingredient, made from carbon, which is insanely more powerful than Vitamin C and for skin care, has been found to be 172 times more potent than Vitamin C. Fullerene has been changed up in my new batch of Happy Day Stuff Serve and Protect Serum.

Yes, this ingredient is more than even oil soluble Vitamin C, but at that much more potency I have decided it is worth it. My cost is over $100 USD per ounce and I add at least 5 percent to a small batch of product, but I am confident that the results will be worthwhile.

Still far less expensive than anything you can find locally and most definitely online, with a host of other ingredients added in.

Fullerene is definitely an ingredient to look for in your skin care AND, while your bottle will not tell you, it should be at least 5 to 10 percent of the product....making it pricey, but POTENT!!! And your skin will love you for the love.

Did you know that Retin A, Retinol and most skin related Vitamin A products come from animal sources?

If you are okay with that then look for those ingredients as well as retinyl palmitate in your ingredients.

If you prefer a powerful plant based alternative, look for Bakuchiol!!! (it is all I use for Vitamin A).
