Girls Weekend at AYEC SSM! 🎃✨
Our girls had the best weekend filled with fun, laughter, creativity, and lots of tasty treats! 🍕🍦 They enjoyed a trip to Pizza Fest, explored the Halloween store, stopped for Dairy Queen, watched some spooky Halloween movies, got creative with crafts and decorating, and started their morning with a delicious banana pancake breakfast! 🥞🍌
It was a weekend full of great memories, friendship, and plenty of girl time! 💕👻🎃

🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Today, we honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities who continue to carry their stories and their impacts.
At the Adult & Youth Enrichment Center and Lonsdale Community Campus, we recognize that reconciliation is an ongoing responsibility. It calls on all of us to listen, learn, remember, and take meaningful action toward a future where every Indigenous child is safe, valued, respected, and given the opportunity to thrive.
Every child matters. Every child deserves to be protected. Every child deserves to come home. 🧡
Today, and every day, we remember. We listen. We learn. We stand committed to reconciliation.
Tomorrow, we pause to remember the children who never returned home from residential schools, honour Survivors and their families, and recognize the lasting impacts residential schools continue to have on Indigenous communities.
Truth and Reconciliation asks more of us than simply remembering. It asks us to listen, learn, reflect, and take meaningful action. It is an opportunity to learn about the true history of residential schools, the strength and resilience of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples, and the ongoing journey toward reconciliation.
Wearing orange is one way to show that we remember and that Every Child Matters — but reconciliation is something we must carry with us every day. 🧡
We encourage everyone to take some time tomorrow to learn, listen to Indigenous voices, reflect on what we have learned, and consider what meaningful reconciliation can look like in our own communities.

💛 World Su***de Prevention Day 💛
Today is a reminder that every person matters, every story matters, and no one should have to face their darkest moments alone.
Sometimes, a simple “How are you really doing?”, a listening ear, or letting someone know “I’m here” can make a difference.
Let’s continue to break the silence, create spaces where people feel safe to speak openly, and remind one another that asking for help is a sign of strength — not weakness.
Check in. Listen. Reach out. Stay connected. You never know how much it might mean to someone. 💛
