⭐️IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT⭐️

After a lot of thought and consideration I’ve decided to close my studio doors in St Boniface and start up full time at home in Selkirk.

My body has been telling me for a while now that it’s time to slow down and take care, so my hours and availability will be reduced for now, but ideally not forever!

This extra free time has allowed me think of new ideas and possibilities for my business and I’m so excited to share the journey with you as exciting things are on the horizon!

It’s been such a bittersweet ride these past few months having to remove certain sugaring services, say goodbye to some clients, and pack up my studio that’s been my home for the past 6 years. But I’m also feeling so hopeful and grateful about this new journey that will allow me to rest and continue doing what I love to do!

From the bottom of my heart thank you to every single one of you who have supported me, gotten sugared by me, spoken kindly about me and helped me make my business what it is today. So much love 🩷

Hi I’m Mel, owner and operator of Sugar Me Body Boutique. Skincare and the beauty industry have always been a huge passion of mine and that is a major part of self care to me. My first sugaring appointment had me hooked, I felt so connected to my sugarist (now founder of SugarSMAC) and she pushed me to take the certification course. I loved the course and I loved being able to provide the same service and feeling to others. I sugared through my bachelor’s degree thinking this would always just be a side gig and it took until not getting into grad school two years in a row to realize this is where I was meant to be.

This summer I’ll be entering my 9th year in business and 6th year in my studio in St Boniface! Which is crazy to even wrap my head around. And becoming an educator with SugarSMAC Professional Body Sugaring & Sugar Shop have truly made my dreams come full circle.

Empowering women to feel their best and offering high quality body sugaring services and products is what drives me forwards and creating long lasting relationships with my clients is my favourite part of my job.

When you pick your ingrowns you’re opening your skin up to bacteria transfer, infection and more irritation. Often times picking or puncturing your skin will result in scarring or more inflammation especially if you’re having to try to dig out whatever is in your pore. If your ingrown hair does not pop out in one easy push it’s not ready, try a light exfoliation, moisturizing the area or putting on a warm compress.

😷 MASK UPDATE 😷

Apologies for the late post, I’ve been thinking a lot about the lifting of mask mandates and chatting with many clients over the past few weeks figuring out how I’d like to proceed.

I have decided to allow clients to make the choice of whether they would like to wear one or not.

I will be continuing to wear my mask during appointments as we transition into this new change and will reevaluate in the coming weeks.

Please continue letting me know and rescheduling if you are feeling sick or unwell (even if it’s not Covid) as that will be common practice for booking with me from now on.

The new lifting of restrictions has been both very exciting and also very overwhelming! I have decided that for the time being masks will still be a mandatory requirement of coming to your appointment as we are unable to practice safe social distancing during the appointment. I want to keep my space feeling safe and welcome for everyone and this feels like the best choice for me and my clients.
