🎗️May is Melanoma and Skin Cancer Awareness Month!

Did you know that skin cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in Canada? According to the Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation, about 80,000 cases of skin cancer are diagnosed in Canada each year.

But the good news is that skin cancer is largely preventable! Here are some tips to protect yourself from overexposure to harmful UV rays:

🌞Wear protective clothing, such as long-sleeved shirts, hats, and sunglasses.
🌞Seek shade when possible, especially during peak sun hours (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.).
🌞Apply sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30, and reapply every two hours or after swimming or sweating.
🌞Avoid tanning beds

Remember, early detection is key! Be sure to regularly check your skin for any unusual changes or spots, and talk to a doctor if you notice anything suspicious.
