NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE

🌿 Dr. Crysana Copland, ND
• 3:00 PM — Appointment available

Naturopathic medicine takes a whole-person approach to your health, considering nutrition, lifestyle, symptoms, and other factors that may be affecting your well-being.

Whether you’re looking to ease muscle tension, relax, support your health during pregnancy, or explore your overall wellness, we’re here to help.

09/26/2026

🌿 HEALING STARTS HERE.

Sometimes feeling better starts with asking a different question:

Not only “How do we manage the symptom?” — but “What could be contributing to it?”

Naturopathic Medicine takes a whole-person approach, looking at your symptoms alongside your health history, nutrition, lifestyle, sleep, stress, hormones and other factors that may be affecting how you feel.

🩸 LAB & FUNCTIONAL TESTING

When appropriate, testing can help provide additional insight into areas such as:

• Hormones & thyroid health
• Iron, B12, vitamin D & nutrient levels
• Blood sugar & metabolic health
• Cholesterol & cardiovascular markers
• Inflammation
• Digestive health
• Perimenopause & menopause
• Energy, sleep & stress

🌿 HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM SEEING YOUR FAMILY DOCTOR?

It doesn’t have to be one or the other.

Your family doctor plays an essential role in diagnosing and treating illness, screening for disease and managing medical care. Naturopathic Medicine can work alongside conventional healthcare, with a strong focus on nutrition, lifestyle, prevention and individualized treatment.

At Breathe Wellness, meet:

Dr. Crysana Copland, ND
Sundays + Thursday evenings
Healthy aging • Sports health • Concussion support

Dr. Caitlin Vance, ND
Fridays + Monday evenings
Women’s health • Hormonal health • Perimenopause & menopause • Functional testing

If you’ve been thinking “I just don’t feel like myself,” or you’d like to take a deeper, proactive look at your health, this may be a great place to start.

🌿 Healing starts here.

🌿 COULD YOUR PELVIC FLOOR BE TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING?

Pelvic floor physiotherapy isn’t just for after having a baby — and you don’t need to wait until symptoms become severe to ask for help.

Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles that helps support your bladder, bowel and pelvic organs and plays an important role in continence, sexual function and core stability.

When might you consider seeing a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist?

You may benefit from an assessment if you experience:

💧 Leaking urine when you cough, sneeze, laugh, run or exercise
🚻 A sudden or frequent urge to urinate
🤰 Changes during pregnancy or after childbirth
🏋️ Heaviness or pressure in the pelvic area
🌸 Symptoms associated with pelvic organ prolapse
❤️ Pain or discomfort with in*******se
😣 Pelvic, hip, tailbone or lower abdominal discomfort
🚽 Difficulty with bowel movements or certain bowel symptoms
🏃 Difficulty returning to exercise after pregnancy or injury
💪 Concerns about pelvic floor strength, coordination or relaxation

One important thing to know: pelvic floor therapy isn’t always about doing more Kegels.

Pelvic floor muscles can be weak, but they can also be overactive, tense or have difficulty coordinating properly. That’s why an individualized assessment matters.

A Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist can assess your symptoms and function and create a treatment plan based on your needs. Treatment may include education, exercises, breathing and pressure-management strategies, strengthening or relaxation techniques, and other appropriate physiotherapy approaches.

You don’t have to simply accept leaking, pressure, discomfort or changes in pelvic function as “just part of getting older” or “just what happens after having kids.”

🧘‍♀️ WHAT IS HIPS & HAMSTRINGS YOGA?

Tight hips? Stiff hamstrings? Spend a lot of your day sitting, standing, driving, working out or simply feeling like your lower body needs a really good stretch?

Hips & Hamstrings Yoga is exactly what it sounds like—a yoga practice with extra attention given to the areas that so many of us feel tight.

🌿 WHAT IS THE CLASS ABOUT?

This class uses yoga poses, stretching and mindful movement to work through the hips, hamstrings and surrounding areas of the lower body.

You may also work into the:

✨ Glutes
✨ Hip flexors
✨ Inner and outer thighs
✨ Lower back
✨ Calves

Rather than trying to force flexibility, the focus is on moving comfortably through your own range of motion and gradually creating more ease in the body.

🧘 WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

🌿 Longer stretches to give your muscles time to relax into the movement.

🤸‍♀️ Hip-opening movements that explore different directions of hip mobility.

🦵 Hamstring-focused stretches to gently work through the backs of the legs.

⚖️ Mobility and functional movement that can support how your body moves during everyday activities.

😌 A slower, feel-good pace—this isn’t about keeping up or pushing yourself to the limit.

🧘‍♀️ Options and modifications so you can work at the level that feels right for your body.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Almost anyone!

It can be a great complement for people who walk, run, cycle, strength train or play sports, as well as anyone who spends long periods sitting at a desk or driving.

And you absolutely do not have to be flexible to come to this class. In fact, feeling tight is a pretty good reason to try it!

Think:

STRETCH • MOBILITY • RELEASE • BREATHE • MOVE BETTER 🌿

At Breathe Wellness, Hips & Hamstrings is about giving your lower body some dedicated attention and leaving class feeling a little more open, mobile and relaxed.

✨ First class is FREE

🌿 PHYSIOTHERAPY: GET BACK TO DOING WHAT YOU LOVE

When people hear “physiotherapy,” they often think of recovering from a major injury or surgery.

But physiotherapy can be about so much more.

You might consider seeing a physiotherapist if you’re dealing with:

🏃 A sports or activity-related injury
🦴 Back or neck pain
🦵 Knee, hip or ankle pain
💪 Shoulder or arm pain
🚶 Difficulty with mobility or everyday movement
⚖️ Balance concerns
🏋️ Weakness or loss of strength
💻 Pain related to posture or work
🔄 An injury that keeps coming back
🏥 Recovery following certain surgeries
😣 An ache or pain that simply isn’t improving
🎾 Difficulty getting back to an activity you love

And you don’t have to wait until the pain becomes severe to book an assessment.

A physiotherapy appointment can include an assessment of your symptoms, movement and function, followed by an individualized treatment plan. Depending on your needs, treatment may include hands-on techniques, therapeutic exercise, mobility work, strengthening and education to help you better understand and manage your condition.

The goal isn’t simply to treat where it hurts.

It’s to help you move better, build strength, improve function and confidently return to the things that matter to you.

Whether that’s getting back to the gym, gardening, playing with your kids, returning to a sport, working comfortably or simply walking without worrying about pain — physiotherapy may be able to help.

🌙 WHAT IS YIN YOGA & YOGA NIDRA?

If your week feels busy, your body feels tight, and your mind has a hard time switching off, Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra offers something completely different from a traditional workout.

This class is about slowing down, releasing tension and creating space for deep rest.

🌿 WHAT IS YIN YOGA?

Unlike faster-moving styles of yoga, Yin is a slow, floor-based practice where poses are typically held for several minutes.

Instead of moving quickly from one posture to another, you settle into each position and allow time for your body to gradually soften.

Yin Yoga can help:

🧘 Improve flexibility and mobility
🌿 Gently work into connective tissues around the joints
✨ Release feelings of physical tension and stiffness
🫶 Encourage stillness and body awareness
😌 Shift you out of the constant go-go-go of everyday life

And no—you do not need to be flexible to do Yin Yoga. Props and modifications can help make the poses comfortable and accessible.

🌙 AND THEN… YOGA NIDRA

After your Yin practice, you’ll transition into Yoga Nidra, sometimes described as yogic sleep.

But you aren’t actually required to sleep.

You simply lie comfortably while your instructor guides you through a meditation designed to bring your attention inward and encourage a deeply relaxed state.

There’s nothing to perform, achieve or perfect. You get comfortable, close your eyes and listen.

Yoga Nidra may help support:

✨ Deep relaxation
🧠 Mental quiet and mindfulness
😴 Preparing the body and mind for rest
🌿 Stress management
🤍 A greater sense of calm and well-being

✨ WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT?

Think long, gentle stretches + quiet + breath + guided relaxation.

This isn’t the class where you come to sweat.

It’s the class where you come to slow down.

🌙 YIN YOGA & YOGA NIDRA
Thursdays • 8:00 PM
📍 Breathe Wellness • Smithville

Never tried it before? Your first class is FREE.
New to our studio? 30 days unlimited for $50.

Come exactly as you are. Your only job for the evening is to get comfortable and allow yourself to rest. 🌿

🌿 WHAT EXACTLY IS OSTEOPATHY?

You’ve probably heard the word osteopathy — but do you actually know what an appointment involves or why someone might book one?

Osteopathic manual therapy is a hands-on approach that looks at how different areas of the body move and function together.

Rather than focusing only on the area where you’re experiencing discomfort, an osteopathic manual practitioner considers the body as a whole and uses manual techniques tailored to the individual.

So when might someone consider osteopathy?

You might seek care for concerns such as:

🔹 Back or neck discomfort
🔹 Joint stiffness or restricted movement
🔹 Muscle tension
🔹 Postural or mobility concerns
🔹 Headaches associated with musculoskeletal tension
🔹 TMJ or jaw-related tension
🔹 Sports and activity-related concerns
🔹 Rib cage or breathing-related mobility restrictions
🔹 General stiffness that makes everyday movement more difficult

One of the things people often appreciate about osteopathic care is its individualized approach.

Your practitioner assesses how your body is moving and functioning and develops a treatment approach based on what they find and on your specific goals.

And you don’t necessarily need to wait until something becomes significantly painful.

Sometimes the reason for booking is simply:

“I don’t feel like I’m moving the way I used to.”

“This area always feels tight.”

“Something just doesn’t feel right when I move.”

Those can all be reasons to have your movement and function assessed.

🌿 Manual Osteopathy at Breathe Wellness

If you’ve been curious about osteopathy but weren’t sure whether it might be appropriate for you, reach out and we’ll be happy to help you determine which of our services may best fit your needs.
