A lot of people don’t realize that when we remove old permanent makeup with laser, it doesn’t always just disappear and leave us with a perfectly clean canvas, sometimes we’re a little unlucky.. Pigments are made up of different colours, and sometimes the darker tones will remove first, leaving that lovely yellow behind 💛😮‍💨

And yellow can be STUBBORN.

Sometimes you get to a point where you’ve done SO much removal and your skin has been through enough, and we have to work with what’s left rather than continuing to chase it.

This is where choosing the right pigment and really thinking about the brow design and flow of the strokes makes such a difference. We can use the new brows to help camouflage that leftover colour instead of just trying to cover it with a ton of pigment.

Especially with brows like these, I always like to start subtle and slow. Your skin has already been through a lot and I would much rather put less pigment in, let everything heal, see what we’re working with and build from there.

We can always add more strokes.
We can always add more density.
We can always go a little darker.

I’d rather build your brows over a couple sessions than try to do too much all at once.

Not every brow is a perfect blank canvas and that’s okay 🤍 Sometimes we just have to work with what we’ve got and be a little more strategic about it.

If your old brow tattoo has faded or been lightened enough, I can often create beautiful, realistic hair strokes that blend seamlessly for a softer, more natural look.

My goal is always to create brows that will age beautifully over time. If there is too much existing pigment behind the Nano strokes, the results simply won’t heal or age as intended, and removal or additional fading may be the first step.

Nano Brow cover-up ✨

One thing I always ask for before booking cover-ups is clear photos of any previous brow work. Some old permanent make up can be corrected beautifully, while other cases may need laser removal first before we can achieve soft, natural healed results.

In this case, her old pigment had faded to a really workable tone, which made her a great candidate for Nano Brows without laser.
