Strong setting techniques, baking, and transfer-proof products are everywhere right now.

I recently discovered a serum-primer that makes makeup incredibly water-resistant, and during the show they literally sprayed water onto the skin and blotted it with a tissue… and the makeup stayed flawless.

That booth was surrounded by artists all day — and honestly, I completely understand why.

Two Completely Different Directions

What’s interesting is that makeup trends right now feel very divided:

Either:
— soft, radiant, barely-there beauty

Or:
— perfected, locked-in glam designed to last all day and night

And honestly?
I love that there’s no single rule anymore.

At the beauty show I recently attended, many artists weren’t even using powder. Instead, they focused on thin, carefully layered products to create that seamless “second skin” effect.

Being surrounded by so many talented artists, live demos, creativity, new techniques and inspiring people was such an amazing experience.

Watching artists like Danessa Myricks and many other incredible makeup professionals live reminded me again why I truly love this industry so much.
