It’s typically an IPL machine, which makes a HUGE difference with how it targets the hair follicle and your results. If you look at the picture there is a distinct difference in how it gets heat to the root where it needs to go for effectiveness. IPL is a flash lamp which scatters the light, as you see a lot of the heat is lost in the skin and doesn’t go to the root as needed. A true laser has pinpoint accuracy meaning it heats up the hair follicle and therefore goes to the root. IPL tends to stunt the growth whereas a true Laser actually kills the hair in active growth. IPL is a class 3 device and lasers are a class 4 device. Buyer beware, do your research and inquire about what type of machine is being used. We use a Soprano Ice Laser which delivers excellent results.
