Beautycounter tested over 300 ingredients in the making of their new perfume, and found only 20% of those ingredients were allowed without restriction.

Over 60 new ingredients were added to The Never List, reaching 2800 questionable or proven to be harmful ingredients that will never be used in our products.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT FRAGRANCE

The fragrance industry is notorious for packing formulas with hidden ingredients, citing “trade secrets” as an out. So, when you see generic terms like “fragrance” or “parfum” on an ingredient label, it’s a catchall masking many ingredients underneath—including potential carcinogens and hormone disruptors. This masking is known as the fragrance loophole.

At Beautycounter, were advocating for this loophole to be closed. Beauty should be good for you!

To be honest, I used to love fragrance, until I learned that harmful ingredients could be lurking in the mix. I also became sensitive to other's perfume and started sneezing or became nauseous when smelling their scent. So, I stopped wearing perfume altogether.

When finances allow, I have my eye set on the PACIFIC DREAMS perfume. With Egyptian jasmine, bergamot and lemon, I'm sure to be reminded of a beautiful and luscious arbor of stunning flowers.
