Hi all, I’m back from vacation and just wanted to share an update on my current location/working situation. I’m no longer working anywhere, I’m taking time for my mental health and to figure some things out. So I’m only doing volunteer work and my side hustle at Shoppers for the time being. I have some content ideas planned for this account so I won’t be quiet on here. We’re going to a little get creative. I’ll be responding to messages as I work through my to-do list. This trend is so cute and made me a little emotional because this is all I have ever wanted to do. From playing with my Bratz dolls hair to styling and doing my own hair in my bathroom as teenager, this career is my dream. I am so grateful to be in this industry and to be able to create and inspire is so fulfilling. If I could write a letter to myself at the age I am in most of these pictures, she would never believe me. Dreams do come true, with time and perseverance and dedication. Stay true to yourself and everything will happen as it supposed to 💕

NEW LOCATION📍

And so because of the new lovely location for me, it means I need to increase my prices on all services going forward. If you’re a returning client of mine, I will offer some sort of discount on your first service. After the first service, it will be at the new pricing. I’m so grateful and excited for this opportunity, let’s make some cool hair 😎

And onto the next chapter…

Today marks my last day at Uptown officially. These last 4 years have been a wild ride but it’s finally time to rest. As many of my clients know, I’ve been working 6 days a week for the last 3 and a half years. I don’t know how I managed but I did, until now. Burnout has caught up to me and my mental health has taken a nose dive in the last couple of months. I have been struggling trying to stay afloat while managing my life and neglecting my wellbeing at the cost of it. I didn’t take time off when I went through major life changes and I should have. I needed time to heal from the relationship trauma and I focused on work instead. I have been neglecting my feelings and my personal boundaries as well as my physical and mental health. I pushed myself to my limit and now I need to rest. I knew this day would come, I just wasn’t expecting it so soon. I am so grateful for all the wonderful people I have met through this industry and the salon. The friendships I have made that will hopefully last a lifetime. I am so sad to be leaving an industry that I love so so so much but my mental health is more important right now. This may not be a full goodbye just a “see you later”. Once my mind and body heals, I may decide to do something in the industry again in whatever way that might be. But for now, I’m taking time to rest and heal. I will miss this so much but it’s time to close this chapter. Thank you to everyone who I have had in my chair, my coworkers at Uptown and anyone who I have met through this career. I will never forget the laughs, storytimes and wise words shared, you have no idea how many clients have helped me push through hard days. For anyone who wants a recommendation for someone to take over your services, send me a message and I will gladly help. There will be brighter days ahead. The world is my oyster.

This was from a few weeks ago and I wish I had a photo of her hair before I waved my magic wand but the result was so beautiful I had to post. This is my lovely client who I see twice a year usually and it still looks so good when she returns to the salon. I did a full/partial hairline focused and refresh foiling where I usually just add some extras brightness through the top. Also used Shades EQ new shade 010NV in this toner formula and I am in LOVE 😍 Shades EQ 4 life

Dreamy ice cream hair for my lovely client Rachel who spent all day with me on Wednesday and it was well worth it! She had some left over Tq@all Elumen underneath that gave us a hard time but after some ✨magic✨ and color theory, we made it happen! I had so much fun with this color and placement 💖
