🧠 Stretch of the Week: Suboccipital Stretch
Do you suffer from headaches that start at the base of your skull? Neck stiffness after a long day at the computer? These small but powerful muscles—called the suboccipital muscles—could be part of the problem.
These muscles help control the movement and position of your head, but they can become tight from:
💻 Prolonged computer work
📱 Looking down at your phone
🚗 Long drives
😣 Stress and tension
😴 Poor posture
✨ Try this simple stretch:
• Sit up tall.
• Gently tuck your chin straight back (like you’re making a double chin).
• Hold for 5 seconds.
• Relax and repeat 8–10 times.
Remember, this stretch should feel gentle—not painful.
If headaches or neck pain keep coming back, it may be time to address the underlying muscle tension rather than just treating the symptoms.
📅 I have appointments available this week in Peachland, West Kelowna, and Kelowna.

🚨 5 Signs Your Body Is Asking for a Massage 🚨
Your body whispers before it screams. Don’t ignore the early warning signs.
✨ 1. Frequent headaches
Tight muscles in your neck, shoulders, and upper back can contribute to tension headaches.
✨ 2. Constant neck or shoulder tightness
If you’re always rubbing your shoulders or stretching your neck, your muscles may need more than a quick stretch.
✨ 3. Low back pain
Long hours sitting, standing, or repetitive movements can place extra stress on your back and hips.
✨ 4. You’re feeling stressed or exhausted
Stress doesn’t just affect your mind—it can cause muscle tension, poor sleep, and fatigue throughout your body.
✨ 5. Reduced flexibility or stiffness
If everyday movements like turning your head, bending over, or reaching overhead feel restricted, it may be time to address the underlying muscle tension.
💚 Massage therapy can help reduce muscle tension, improve mobility, decrease stress, and help you move and feel your best.
Don’t wait until the pain becomes unbearable. Taking care of your body today can help prevent bigger problems tomorrow.
