Sure fire way to get a bad Demodex (lash mite) infestation is to ignore your lash hygiene. These little dudes actually have a symbiotic relationship with us and, if our lashes are kept clean, generally tend to not be an issue. Lash mites LOVE the dirt, sebum, and dead skin cells that build up on your eyelids when you don't practice proper lash hygiene. When there is an abundance of buildup, there is an abundance of mites! That's where we run into issues and infections.
Washing your lashes with an oil free cleanser not only increases the retention of your extensions, but it also keeps those unwanted microscopic critters from getting out of hand.
