I got into making tallow after meeting an amazing herbalist Earth Wisdom Apothecary. She has led me through so much help and guidance.

Tallow is extremely compatible with the oil that our skin naturally produces. It shares a similar biology.
It’s not only great for repairing the skin, but it also helps to prevent damage to the skin.

It has anti inflammatory properties as well as it is great for breakouts.

I will be selling this at a few stores in our area. Keep a look out for who they are!

Hello! I am Kandace the face behind Karma Apothecary and by trade I am a hairstylist here in Swift Current.
Through my own health journey and trying to find alternative ways of fueling my body naturally, I embarked on a world of herbs. I started with tea, as it was an easy way people could get the benefits of herbs in! Bringing it back to our roots I never realized how many healing plants we have around us.

I began taking some online course’s and taking a deep dive into plant medicine.
I am still and always will be a student herbalist as there are so many plants to learn about and I don’t know if I will ever know all of them!

I created the name Karma Apothecary as a branch off of my salon name, it just seemed fitting.
I love playing around with different flavours and coming up with teas to help different alignments. I taste and test all of my blends before I sell them.
I love creating new things by request and if you are wanting something specific I can more than likely source the ingredients for you.
My favourite herbs/flowers are Holy Basil, Lemon balm, California poppy, Blue butterfly pea flower, Elderflower and Mullein.

I have recently dived into making tallow which is very fun to make and also so healing for the skin.

My future goal is to host more classes on making your own Tea blends, creating your own herbal bath salts and oils for the Swift current and surrounding area. I would also like to collab with some fellow herbalists I have met along the way!

Tradeshow Sisters

Makes me sad to write this post but I have decided to give up my retail space! Reason being is my vision was to have a cute retail tea shop, I had so many ideas. But than I started getting my tea into retailers and doing workshops and my ideas changed. Also let’s face it the economy isn’t great and it just doesn’t make sense.

With owning a salon I was finding I just didn’t have the time to dedicate a day to get to this shop and frankly the location wasn’t great for traffic.

With that being said I have a room in my house that I am creating a dedicated sanitized space ( we live in a 4 level split so we have a million rooms lol). I am taking the direction of selling in retail stores, building a website, markets and would love to continue doing workshops!

I have given up my space to someone very lovely, but I’ll let her share her news.

What is a tincture?
A tincture is a concentrated liquid extract that is made by soaking herbs or other plant material in alcohol or another solvent.

Tinctures are often used as a more convenient and portable alternative to herbal teas. They are typically taken by placing a few drops under the tongue or adding them to water or your drink of choice.
