What does this mean for treatments when it gets this hot?
Waxing- to make sure we are taking care of your skin first, I am closing my wax pots until the temperature drops back below 72°. This might mean rebooking into the late evening or early mornings. Please bare with me. This heat is ridiculous.
Lash lift- the warmer the room, the quicker the process time. To make sure we are looking after the health of your eyelashes, this service is temporarily unavailable when the temp gets above 72°.

All other treatments are able to proceed as normal. If you have a wax booked this week (specifically friday + saturday) we will be in touch to tentatively confirm and to give you a heads up.

I don't make personal posts here very often. However, the messages I have received about the state of my garden after the storm sunday has been heartwarming. To answer a few questions.

Its still standing, with the location of it, I was shocked. Some things like my cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes and peas might not be what they were before, but we were lucky considering others lost much more to the hail.

To say my heart was a bit broken hearing the hail come down is an understatement. Anyway, here's a few pictures.

Closed for some summer holidays.

This week I am recharging in my garden (doesn't it look beautiful? I call this my "masterpiece" this year 😂), spending time with friends and family and having a completely plan-less week.

I have been absolutely shocked by my schedule going into summer, in a good way! The support I continue to receive is wonderfully overwhelming. So this week I'm switching gears, slow mornings, productive afternoons and lazy evenings. I want to come back fully recharged and ready to finish out the summer season with everyone.

I have updated a few of my policies. Please take a second to read through. Due to an increasing number a no-showed appointments and cancelations within the 24hr window before an appointment (these rarely are able to be filled that quick), and a growing waitlist, I have made them to protect my own time.

Since I have opened my doors I feel like I have stayed lenient with implementing a "cancelation policy". However, going forward these new policies will be followed strictly. I do apologize for any frustration this may cause. If you have any questions regarding the following please reach out.

Good afternoon everyone,

I just wanted to let everyone know that my next opening for any appointment that is 1 hour or more, is July 29th. This includes all manicures, pedicures, large waxing treatments and all facials and body treatments.

I have quick times of 45 minutes or less, but those are also filling up fast. If you haven't booked yet I would suggest joining my waitlist via my online booking.

*this summer I am taking a week off at the beginning of July. I will be off from the 28th of June and back to work on July 7. During this time off I will do my best to answer messages.

May 15, 2026 marks 7 years of Down the Road Esthetics.

There has been lots of changes over the years, from new locations to new services, but one things that has remained consistent is my love for everything I do, and my gratitude for every single person who has walked through the door.

Little back story:
Growing up my Mom and Dad worked very hard and always showed us what amazing work ethic looks like. They owned a machine shop for years out in Cabri before my dad got a job working in Kindersley. My point being, he has put in the hours of running a business, he knew the work I was up against.
When I went to them one evening after moving home from Medicine Hat, I told them I wanted to start my own little Spa. I remember them being very cautious. Not trying to detur me from it, but giving me all sides of what I was getting myself into. My Dad said "it's a lot of work owning a business, it takes a person about 7 years to build up a solid base to a business."...he couldn't have been more right. They always supported my dream, they believed in my skills before I did, and I know I built this much better with their unwavering support.

7 years later, from opening day. We have a beautiful space, I have the most amazing, kind-hearted clients who are more like family, and a full calendar. As tired as I get sometimes, this was the goal, this is what I wished for and dreamed about. I feel like that point where you almost reach the top of the mountain, the view looks great, but it would look even better from the top... and there's still more to reach for!

Here's to year 8. Its looking like this one will be a busy one, but i couldn't imagine spending my days doing anything else. Thank you always for the continued support, for growing with me, and finding all my hard-to-find locations.
