It has been 16 months since I have made any bath bombs!
I can say once I figured out the trick to making bath bombs in the Maritimes it felt very much like riding a bike again… its had been 16 months since I had made any bombs!
Building stock up from the ground up is a slow process but it is coming along… There should be inventory for both salts and bombs online by week’s end!!
Paint Your Own Bath Bombs are made and so are some of our round bombs. More rounds plus treasure bombs and shower steamers on the production list for this week!
Bath Bombs in the Maritimes are a tricky b*tch with the humidity from the ocean. We are now adding Kaolin clay to our bombs and love the addition.
Any fave scents you are waiting for??

Things are starting to get to a new normal for us. I've been away from the computer working hard on setting up our workshop for soap etc but also setting up our land. We grow as much of our own food as we can and getting new gardens built and filled has been on our minds since Christmas when we started some of our plants. Sooo very excited to have the space to finally grown our own botanicals!!!
New inventory is being created and will be added to the website for early next week. ((Bath Bombs & Salts for sure!!!)
We have been part of the Pan Cape Breton Food Hub Co-op selling our wares inside regularly at the main Hub at 1415 NS 105, Little Bras d'Or, NS, Canada, Nova Scotia (that's directly on the Trans Canada Highway in Little Bras d'Or) We are super pleased to be a part of a great team of producers there! Selling plants was a new one for us but we even participated in their plant sales for a couple of weekends! Our soap, candles and jewelery are a regular addition to the Hub.
We are also super pleased to announce that we will be selling at the Baddeck Market this summer too starting this Saturday. The market is every other weekend right in beautiful Baddeck at the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site. I attached the market schedule as an image for dates

Making my “To Make” list of SOAP wasn’t hard at all, lengthy but not hard. BATH BOMBS tho, that’s another story and I'd like your help...
We have made so many kinds of bombs with so many scents and sizes. I haven’t made a bath bomb in over a year tho. I know my mind is completely blown too. I made soap one day a week and some evenings. However, we usually made bath bombs 3-5 days a week. Painted, not painted, with botanicals, without botanicals, hidden toys, hidden colours. At one point we had over 200 kinds of bombs in the store between styles and scents – don’t even get me started on shapes…
While I have my “To Make” list pretty much finalized, I want to know which bath bombs do you want to see again most? Shout out scent or style or both. I can’t guarantee its made the cut list but lets see…
This is the chance to change things up and we are indeed going to change it up but still have your faves like treasure bombs. We have to take shipping into consideration and some shapes just aren’t going to be practical or enviro-friendly to ship.
If you are more about the bath salts than the bath bombs (like me) let me know your faves from those too!

While we have sold out of a few kinds of soap, we still have 59 kinds available on the website.
THEY ARE ALL HOLDING AT THE $6 PRICE UNTIL THEY ARE SOLD OUT.
There is also bundle pricing of BUY 5 GET 1 FREE on the website.
https://www.wylderose.ca/collections/soap (25 bars qualifies for FREE SHIPPING but so does any order over $125)
As new soaps are made and launched over the next couple of months, the new prices will be introduced with the bars.

For those looking for a deal - the wax melts on our website are currently 3/$10
We've bundled them up in threes based on a theme.
The address label is incorrect and I'm not liking the stuck on white label so rather then make a mess, you get a deal. :)

Update on Prices, Production and Products
Ick the thing I hate the most – price changes. Especially in a world where we are hit with it every trip to the grocery store. My suppliers for raw goods were no different.
There are currently 63 kinds of soap available on the website.

To keep it the most balanced I am introducing three tiers for pricing on soap bars. Most of our bars will fall in the middle tier. Some of our bars with more expensive oils & butters to create will have a higher price. Prices will be launched when the new soaps are made and ready for launch. We are always on the prowl to find the best pricing we can for our raw goods.
Bringing us to production. We are starting production in the next couple of weeks. This is my 9th workspace over 30 years so I am being rather particular about what I want and where I want it. The wonderful Mr. Wylde Rose obliges and creates the dream. I also know if its not done before I get creating then it may never been done as there is never a break in the creating.
Revamping an entire product line, especially one that was the size of ours is rather intense. Super exciting and fun but intense all the same. I’m working hard on our wholesale, private label and favour catalogues and staring over our older product photos and planning photo shoots of products not even made yet.
Signature scent lines will be back with some interesting twists.
Products will include Soap, Bath Bombs, Bubble Bars, Bath Salts/Milks, Shower Steamers, Lotion, Body Butter, Body & Bath Oil, Shampoo Bars, Facial Care, Foaming Hand Soap, Deodorant, Lip Butter, Candles to name a few. Soap will include regular bars, glycerin bars, loofah bars and salt soap
Production lines with emphasis on more than 2 or 3 product items include H**p, Tender Tootsies, Bastille, Crystals, Argan, Coconut Cream, Aunt Flo's Assistant.
There are no words to describe the anticipation… Lists are made and designs sketched out. Fingers are itching to get on the stick blender for soap and my bath bomb molds sit on the shelves in bins begging to be used.
Here's a few pics of past items to get you excited - What product are you most eager for??

People may think we’d be pleased to see the Body Shop struggling and closing some stores. We aren’t. It makes me rather sad.
Anita Roddick set the bar decades ago with her vision for The Body Shop. I’m not sure the average person knew much about fair trade and sustainability in the 80’s but their practices certainly shone a light that things could be different from sourcing ingredients to the actual ingredients used. It forced other companies to step up to the plate and rely on less chemicals.
While I was making concoctions and potions from the time I could walk with bathroom products, The Body Shop was a beacon to a person like me with sensitive skin.
I am pretty sure at least 75% of women who are now aged 45-55 had one or multiple items in the hygiene arsenal. I am pretty sure the number of us having lip balm pots in our pencil cases, backpacks and purses is higher than that

Shipping costs are a pain in the a$$. It is the bane of many small businesses.

So one post I’ve been waiting to make because writing it brings up so many emotions is this one. Those who know me accept that I am a crier. Even writing this post brings on some waterworks. We were so excited for the future, and yet the day we pulled out of Brantford, Don in the truck with the big trailer and myself with the van full of critters hauling another trailer. I shouldn’t admit it but I bawled until about Mississauga. So many memories made and I still haven’t been able to look at the final pictures of our house empty. Our kids all became adults in that house. It was a strange myriad of emotions to be so excited and so sad at the same time.
We wouldn’t be here in Nova Scotia without our amazing real estate agents in each province. Countless messages and fortunately we did not have to endure a zillion showings to be sold. We wouldn’t have done it quite as well without the amazing talents of Kim Bailey-Brown Realtor and Sarah Hazell Realtor (and also Samantha!) in Brantford.
Sidenote: Kim was the first person I met in Brantford over 14 years ago at my first networking meeting there. She spoke to me every single time we saw each other afterwards. It may not seem like it but I am actually super shy and pretty awkward so it meant a lot. Kim was one of Wylde Rose’s biggest supporters from our first day in Brantford.
