Dylan means Son of the Sea, so what a fitting name for this group. This is in memory of my son Dylan Taylor who passed away January 13th, 2023 to suicide.

I hope this page will not trigger anyone but a place to come together and help one another.

Yesterday, I received an email letting me know that Dylan has officially been recognized by the CBRM, and that the first Saturday of every September will be recognized as Dylan Taylor Memorial Day. Reading those words brought so many emotions at once. As Dylan’s mom, it is difficult to explain what it means to know that my son’s name, his life, and his memory will now be recognized year after year in our community. Dylan was here. He was loved beyond words. His life mattered, and he will never be forgotten.

Since losing Dylan, I have put my heart and soul into keeping his memory alive and trying to turn the greatest pain of my life into something that can help others. Through the Dylan Taylor Memorial Ride, the Son of the Sea Project, su***de awareness, community support, fundraising, and being there for people who are struggling, I have worked hard to create something meaningful from his legacy. There have been tears, difficult days, and moments when I wondered if all the work I was doing was making a difference. Receiving this recognition from the CBRM reminds me that it is.

Having the first Saturday of every September recognized as Dylan Taylor Memorial Day isn’t just about remembering the way we lost Dylan. It is about remembering how he lived, who he was, how deeply he was loved, and the impact his life continues to have. It is also another opportunity to speak openly about su***de awareness, mental health, and the importance of reaching out to those who may be struggling. As his mom, I couldn’t be more proud to continue carrying his name forward. Everything I do, I do with Dylan in my heart, and knowing that his name will continue to be spoken and remembered means more to me than I could ever put into words. 💜🩵

Dylan Taylor — Forever 18. Forever loved. Forever remembered.

I have been brainstorming different ideas and what to do, first thing in order is I bought take out containers and forks and everything and I will be doing monthly meals for the at risk and homeless downtown and the pallet homes.

First meal will be spaghetti and meatballs!
Then sweet and sour meatballs and rice,

I have a list of things to do up and send to them. This will be a monthly thing I will be doing and come December I will buy a few turkeys and do turkey dinners for them.

This is why I do what I do ❤️‍🩹

I want to first say Thank you for everyone that helped make my ride a huge success!
I had a few people thank me for doing what I do and I said with all honesty, please dont thank me because I wish I didnt have to do this but I do it for Dylan and my girls ❤
I wish this wasnt my life and raising as much awareness as I can to help someone so no other family has to go through this, I know it is not humanly possible but even if I can help 1 person then everything I do is worth it.

I also want to put out there I am always doing stuff most people don’t see! Just know I already started planning for christmas and ways to help out, Every year I try to help a family and then I always donate to the Celtic Family where they do one huge toy drive and donate to a charity, this is again something I will be doing.
I am also going to do up some packages for some of the homeless people around here with some warm socks, gloves, tims cards.

So I am always accepting donations to continue doing what I am doing.
BUT with that being said I am still doing all of this amoungst doing work with the bike club and now Sophie graduating so I will be joining the safe grad committee and helping raise funds for the grads to have an awesome year!

Again thank you so much

It is almost ride day! I have been getting donations coming in, both monetary and physical ones. I am waiting it out to see about an online auction or doing a live auction. Not to sure yet
If anyone is wanting to donate or know someone who may have a business to donate an item I can pass along the letter I have been handing out. Or my EMT is [email protected]

All monies raised go right back to helping those who need it and a portion will be going to the Cape Breton Su***de Loss Support Group for a bursary.

Thank you all so much

I have had the best few days along with Sophie. We have been making tons of memories with Maliyah and couldn’t be happier.

Times sure are different and this is not the way I expected being a nanny would be like but we are learning as we go and doing what feels right.
Dylan should be here and doing stuff with us but we try to look past and continue forward. If I sit for too long than I want then I know what the outcome is and I’ve been there a few times and refuse to go back down that hole.

So we will continue with our new life as each day is different and telling this little girl all about her daddy. She is asking lots of questions now and wanting to know things and LOVES when we tell her she is just like him ❤️
