6 ways to prevent your toner from fading 🎥 Save and read below ⬇️ 1. Once you leave the salon try not to wash your hair for 24-48 hours. This will help prolong the tone of your hair. 2. Use professional Products. Drugstore products have ingredients that can literally wash your toner right out. Investing in your haircare is Insurance for your hair. 3. Install a water softener shower head. Hard water not only fades toner but can cause a mineral build-up on your hair, making it feel extra greasy even after a wash. It may also contribute to dry, damaged hair due to frequent washing. 4. Washing with Lukewarm or cool water is recommended. 5. Wash less dry shampoo more 6. Sun- UV rays from the sun can fade your color. Please keep In mind toner is only temporary and can last 4-8 weeks depending on how you take care of your hair. I always recommend clients come in for maintenance toning appointments in between big Blonding appointments. Even if a clients hair lifts perfectly the toner will eventually fade out and the hair will go back to warm. Here are a few things I recommend to my clients to help their hair from fading to yellow or brassy tones 1. Schedule maintenance toning appointments in between Blonding services. Toners can help maintain cool or ashy blondes tones. My go to toning line is @redken shades EQ 🙌 2. Purple shampoo can be a blondes best friend if used the right way. I don’t recommend just any purple or blue shampoo. If you’re a client ask your stylist what brand purple shampoo will work best for your hair. I like to use Redken Color Extend Blondage 💜 3. Using a water filter on your shower head can help prevent hard water build up on the hair. Installing a shower filter helps prevent unwanted minerals and chemicals from wreaking havoc on the hair. Hard water can cause toner to fade out even quicker than it normally should.
