I’ve been thinking A LOT about where I want to take Chlo Artistry next. 🤍

After my personal busiest artistry year yet and still going, I’ve learned SO much about what women actually want from makeup, what overwhelms them and what they’re looking for outside of social media trends.

And it’s made me realize just how much I have to share.

It’s been almost 20 years since I graduated makeup school, and those years have given me A LOT.

I’ve trained with brands like Bobbi Brown, Stila, Laura Mercier and Smashbox, learned from global artists at the top of their game, built multiple businesses and, alongside my business partner Shanda, co-founded the full hair and makeup brand and team that is now Calgary Based Hair & Makeup Team.

Even stepping away from the industry after experiencing burnout taught me valuable administration and business skills, but most importantly, BALANCE. My training at Holt Renfrew shaped how I approach customer service, and my own experiences with grief, loss and anxiety have given me an even deeper compassion for the person sitting in my chair. 🤍

I will ALWAYS do and love bridal, but I’m ready to really zone in on education, makeup lessons and mentoring other artists in 2027.

I want to take almost 20 years of experience and make makeup and this industry feel more SIMPLE in a world with way too many choices.

Now I just need to learn more about Instagram and TikTok and take some courses on THAT. 🤪😂

So, this is where I am putting my energy and where Chlo Artistry is heading next. 🥹🤍 So excited to see what happens!

A little note about my new Peak Season Booking Minimum 🤍

From May through October, Friday & Saturday bridal bookings require a minimum of 4 makeup services.

Peak wedding season is incredibly busy, and these are some of my most requested dates. Because I can only take one bridal party per morning, accepting a smaller booking can mean turning away a larger wedding for that same date.

This minimum allows me to protect my availability, run my business sustainably and continue giving every bride the time, care and experience she deserves.

Have less than 4 people? You can still inquire! A minimum investment option may be available depending on the date.

Sundays will have very limited availability as I’m making more space for my faith, family, rest and restoration. 🤍

An updated Peak Season Minimum policy will also be included in my bridal contracts moving forward so everything is clear from the beginning.

Setting boundaries in my business is something I’m learning to become more comfortable with. Growth doesn’t always mean doing more. Sometimes it means creating boundaries that allow my business and myself to thrive.

2026 taught me A LOT as a makeup artist and business owner. 🤍

A few things I’m learning to leave behind as I head into 2027…

Taking on more than I need to because I feel like growth always means doing more/ this is simply not true.

Being afraid to set boundaries or policies because I never want to disappoint anyone.

Feeling like I need to keep my prices the same while I continue investing in my education, experience and products, and the cost of supplies continues to rise.

Filling every weekend without leaving enough room for my family, my faith and myself, because I’ve learned how important it is to protect myself from burnout.

I’ve also learned that I LOVE bridal… but I’m so much more than a bridal makeup artist. I want to make more room for lessons, grads, photoshoots, branding, events, education and simply being creative.

This year has been incredibly busy, challenging, beautiful and rewarding. I am SO grateful for every single person who has trusted me with their face, their wedding day, their milestone or their special moment. 🤍

2026 taught me how to grow a busy business.

2027 is about growing an intentional, sustainable business that creates stability and long term success while doing something I truly love.

I don’t just want to be busy. I want to build something that lasts. 🤍

More balance. More creativity. More family. More faith. More growth.

And still lots and lots of beautiful faces. ✨
