An example of this would be a hyaluronic acid which has a low molecular weight, meaning it is more easily absorbed or pe*****ted into the skin. On the other hand, moisturizers/creams or oils often contain lipids which have a higher molecular weight and are designed to sit on the top layers of your skin, providing nourishment and protection - essentially sealing all the other goodness in.
