PSA: Needle discovered in Halloween candy

On November 12, 2025, Windsor Police received a report of a needle found inside a piece of Halloween chocolate.

The chocolate bar was part of a green Halloween-themed treat bag collected while trick-or-treating in Windsor’s west end, specifically in the area of Prince Road and surrounding streets. No physical injuries were reported.

Police are reminding parents and caregivers to carefully inspect all Halloween candy before allowing children to consume it.

Tips for safe candy inspection:

- Check for tears, pinholes, or signs of re-wrapping
- Discard any items that look suspicious
- Watch for discolouration or unusual textures
- Avoid homemade treats or candy not in its original, sealed packaging

If you find any candy that appears suspicious, do not consume it and contact Windsor Police immediately.
