With the Price List being sent via email last night, a few of you are unsure of the name of the services you receive. Please don't hesitate to ask if you are unsure😁.
All colour services include the price of your haircut. Everything is still based on time. So generally I adjust the base price if the appointment takes more or less. Always have. That won't change. The only time it would affect the haircut price is when a new haircut or extra styling is requested that takes extra time.
On average depending on the type of service, the hourly rate has increased by about $5-10/hour. (Before tax) Some services had to be updated on the higher end due to the amount of time and detail they entail.
SalonScale Cost (amount of product) is the same. This only increases by cents per year when the colour companies change their prices. I have no issue sharing your average amount with you if you need the breakdown.
Transparency has always been my motto since I opened my business.

An example:
If your 2 hour appointment was $150/hr + $15 in Colour that would have been
$165+HST (13%) = $186.45
Your new price would be:
$170+15 x 13%= $209.05
So that is $22.60/ 2hrs = $11.30/ hr incl. Tax

I think this is only the 2nd or 3rd May Long weekend I've ever missed going to camp. Once during covid for sure....but I don't generally pass up the opportunity to go fishing🎣
But all for the end result of living out our dream to move to the country🌲🏞️🐿️

As of June 1st, my service prices are getting a re-vamp to cover the rise in supply costs over the past few years.
An updated price breakdown will be coming to your inbox soon.
Don't panic. I know this can sound intimidating but I promise it's a small percentage.
And I will soon be switching over to Vagaro Software for my bookings. Stay tuned for more information on that.

I’ve been quiet on here for a long time.
STORY TIME:
Last weekend I was doing some sanding and painting in our house to prepare for us to put it on the market so we can finally go live the country life we’ve been planning. By Monday my back felt very sore and by Tuesday morning I couldn’t get out of bed very well or walk without almost every step sending a sharp stabbing pain throughout my low back and right hip & leg.
Tuesday I spent the better part of the day at the hospital getting pain management and X-rays. As you know our hospital is generally in grid lock and it takes hours to be seen. I was taken in quickly as my pain was visibly at a 10+ while I had tears rolling down my face in the waiting room and sitting was making it way worse. But I understood it would be a long process as I am not considered an emergency. Still frustrating how our system works here. Not the healthcare workers fault though. It was packed in there. I spent most of the 8hrs on a bed in the hallway.
Anyways all I could think of was how much I was disappointing my clients. And that I didn’t know how long I would be like this for. Well it’s Friday and I still can’t stand up straight without the jabbing pain. I can’t stand for very long without needing to lay down and I feel useless! You all know that when I need to cancel appointments, it means that I will have to work day and night to get everyone back in. Normally that would be fine after my kids being sick or even myself. But this is different. I need to be able to stand, bend and move around without my back pinching off sending me a jolt of pain that takes my breath away.
I’m doing my best to rest, ice it and take my pain meds so I can heal and get back to doing what I love as soon as possible. I’ll be trying to take care of myself and build strength as soon as I can.
Any appointments this week that have been canceled, I will send an email after I rest this weekend and start rescheduling. Some of you have been so kind with offering your appointments next week to those who I had to cancel this week. I truly have amazing people in my clientele ❤️. I’ll do my best to get everyone in promptly. Thanks everyone-Holly

I hope this post brings awareness to not only my industry but any service provider who is either self employed or even commission based.
It is not meant to come off as an angry rant nor is it being posted at a specific time or towards anyone in particular.
I have been meaning to start posting more often for my business. I haven't had the passion to keep up with my social medias in the last year or so. But here I go!
If it helps others say what they've been wanting to say then that's amazing.
This may just be my new way of educating not only helping clients understand our industry but inspiring other stylists and business owners on a different approach to salon business🤷🏻♀️
