Struggling with hair fall, slow growth, or thinning strands? 💆🏻‍♀️
Chances are you’re unknowingly making one of these 9 hair growth-killing mistakes 👇🏻
đźš« 1. Not drinking enough water
Dehydration = dry scalp, brittle hair, stunted
growth.
đźš« 2. Skipping sunlight / Low Vitamin D
Low vitamin D is a proven cause of hair thinning especially at the crown.
🚫3.Ignoring dandruff & scalp issues
Inflamed scalp = weak roots. Treat the scalp,
not just the strands.
🚫4. High stress & poor sleep
Elevated cortisol literally shuts down your hair growth phase.
🚫5. No pre-wash oiling or masking
Pre-care protects your strands during shampoo. Don’t skip it.
🚫6. Poor diet = weak follicles
Hair needs protein, zinc, iron, biotin, omega-3s to thrive.
🚫7. No scalp massage
Reduces circulation → fewer nutrients reaching your roots.
🚫8. Improper cleansing
Product buildup suffocates follicles. Clean
scalp = growth-ready scalp.
🚫9. Using hard/unfiltered water
Loaded with minerals that cause breakage, dryness & itchy scalp.
Fix these and your hair will thank you.
Your hair growth is not just about products. It’s about lifestyle, habits, and science-backed care.

Scalp psoriasis is more than just a flaky scalp.
It can be itchy, inflamed, uncomfortable, and is often mistaken for dandruff, which can delay getting the right treatment.
A healthy scalp is the foundation of healthy hair.
That's why understanding the root cause of your symptoms is so important.
At Thunder Bay Hair Loss Clinic, our trichology-based approach focuses on identifying what's happening beneath the surface.
Through a comprehensive scalp assessment and personalized treatment plan, we help support long-term scalp health and hair wellness.
If you've been struggling with persistent scalp irritation, flaking, or itching, it may be time to look beyond dandruff.
Save this post for future reference and share it with someone who may be dealing with scalp psoriasis or ongoing scalp concerns.

Nobody likes hearing this, but hoping your hair loss will improve on its own usually isn't the answer.
As a practitioner and trichologist, these are five truths I often share with clients on their hair restoration journey.
Truth #1: Healthy hair starts beneath the surface.
Hair reflects what's happening inside your body. If hormonal imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, or inflammation are present, products alone won't solve the root cause. Treating the source matters.
Truth #2: "Within range" doesn't always mean ideal.
Standard lab results don't always tell the full story. Your body can still struggle to support healthy hair growth even when values fall within a normal reference range. Looking at the bigger clinical picture is key.
Truth #3: Ongoing stress affects more than your mind.
Long-term stress can influence hormones, nutrient absorption, and your natural hair growth cycle. When your body stays in survival mode, hair health is often one of the first things to suffer.
Truth #4: The sooner you act, the better.
Hair loss rarely stops on its own. Early assessment and treatment give you the best chance of preserving existing hair and encouraging healthier growth.
Truth #5: Genetics are only one piece of the puzzle.
Family history may increase your risk, but it doesn't determine your outcome. Lifestyle, nutrition, scalp health, and the right treatment plan can all make a meaningful difference.

Can rosemary oil fix hair loss? As a trichologist, this is one of the most common questions I hear — and the honest answer is, it depends on what's causing your hair loss.
Rosemary oil can support scalp circulation and create a healthier environment for your follicles. That's a real benefit. But hair loss isn't one condition — it's many. Androgenetic thinning, telogen effluvium, alopecia areata, hormonal shifts, scalp inflammation — each one has a different cause and a different path forward.
If your shedding is mild and related to scalp health, rosemary oil may be a helpful part of your routine. But if your loss is driven by hormones, genetics, or an underlying condition, oil alone isn't reaching the root cause. The follicle needs more targeted support.
The most important step isn't choosing a product, it's understanding what type of loss you're experiencing. That clarity changes everything.

Migraines aren't always just about what's happening in your head. Sometimes, tension in your scalp, neck, and surrounding muscles can contribute to discomfort and make headaches feel even worse.
Scalp therapy helps promote relaxation, improve circulation, and release built-up tension, leaving you feeling refreshed and relieved. While it isn't a cure for migraines, many people find it to be a valuable part of their overall wellness routine.
If stress and muscle tension are triggering your headaches, scalp therapy may be worth exploring.

Noticing thinning at the crown? It could be your scalp trying to tell you something.
Hair thinning doesn't happen overnight. It often starts gradually, especially around the crown, and can be linked to DHT sensitivity, chronic stress, poor sleep, reduced scalp circulation, hormonal changes, genetics, or overall scalp health.
The earlier you identify the cause, the better your chances of slowing hair loss and supporting healthy regrowth.
At Thunder Bay Hair Loss Clinic, we don't believe in guesswork. We begin with a professional scalp analysis to understand what's causing your hair thinning and create a personalized treatment plan that fits your needs.
Whether you're noticing increased shedding, a widening part, or thinning at the crown, don't wait until it becomes more noticeable.
Book your consultation today and take the first step toward healthier, fuller-looking hair.

One of the most common things I hear from clients is:
“Everyone keeps telling me my hair looks fine.”
The reality is that early hair loss rarely starts with a bald spot.
More often, it starts with a feeling that something isn’t right.
Your ponytail feels smaller.
Your hair feels thinner.
It doesn’t style the same. It doesn’t feel like your hair anymore.
Because you interact with your hair every day, you’re often the first person to notice subtle changes in density, diameter, and volume.
And more often than not, you’re right.
