But the solos that actually hit me in the chest are always the melodic ones. The ones you can hum. The ones that feel like a voice instead of a math equation. Shredding is insanely impressive — like, it’s superhuman. But melody? Melody is what usually connects to the heart instead of just the brain. If I HAD to pick one, I’d choose melody every time. But the great thing about guitar is… we get BOTH. So tell me — which one gets you? Melody or shred?
