As we enter three years in operating, we’ve decided to change our name to Studio PM.
Today’s announcement reflects a decision that took months of debating, and will come into effect in May.
To preserve elements of our brand’s heritage, we’ve kept the sun logo. In the past year, we’ve been inspired by this sunset that we are privileged to see every day, right across from our home base at Polson Pier.
When tasked with designing the name change, owner Anil Mohabir says the company was founded as a namesake after his own initials, but cites that the name is easily confused with local competing businesses, which includes a coffee shop, lighting design store as well as a hair studio.
“Studio P.M. resonates with our team, because no one’s enthusiastic about a 9 A.M. morning Zoom call. Pushing back all of our call times on our shoots have resulted in a drastic increase in team satisfaction overall”. Producers Ashley & Benny have found that in addition to reduced time sitting in morning rush-hour traffic, later call times have also resulted in a big decrease in crew showing up late to shoot days.
We might be changing an A for a P, but what we aren’t changing is our commitment to delivering world-class digital experiences to our clients worldwide. The best part? Our LA operations team no longer has to deal with 6 A.M. emails as we constantly deal across time zones.
We were never morning people anyway 😂
