You've always taught me to be selfless, to give when you can even if you don't have a lot, to be organized and detail-oriented, to always have strong family bonds, to be brave and determined, and to just always be grateful. Oh and thanks for the debilitating anxiety too I guess 🤣

I've gotten over posting on social media (unfortunate for my bidness 😑) and struggle with captions BUT, I love the people involved in this project so much I had to do it! Congratulations to everyone that brought this magical world and story to life, especially and for knocking it out of Yankee Stadium with their performances 🖖🏽Can't wait for everyone to watch it!

This is going to be a long post but I highly recommend that you read it all the way through, and take it to heart if you are a hair and makeup artist in any capacity.

I had the privilege of taking a textured hair Masterclass yesterday with Master Hair Stylist in her beautiful salon - JouJou Hair Studio that's located in Etobicoke. I can easily say this one-day class was one of the most educational experiences of my life, and this includes a 6-week hair course that I took in makeup school. I don't think that even scratched the surface of what we need to know as artists when it comes to working on all different hair types and textures.

I truly didn't realize how much I didn't know until I graduated and started working in the industry shortly thereafter. It was always such a source of shame for me that I felt I couldn't provide everyone that sat in my chair with the same level of care and knowledge they deserved. I bought books and watched videos and looked for resources online to try and teach myself, but I feel like this class alone literally obliterated the need for all of that. I feel so much more confident about walking onto a set, it's truly unhinged.

I know finances can be difficult personally because it's something that's affected all of us I'm sure, especially in the last couple of years. BUT, if you're ever able to prioritize and invest in your skill set, I highly recommend doing so. I truly didn't feel right calling myself a true hair and makeup artist before yesterday because I knew there was such a lack of MANDATORY information in my knowledge. If you have a chance to go and take this course, please do so because I swear you'll come out of it as a better artist all around.

I would recommend you ⭐ run and not walk ⭐ to sign up for these classes because they sold out last month AND yesterday. I am so grateful for for putting this on my radar, and I hope I can do the same for you. I would love to share more details of my experience if you want, and I cannot wait to take more advanced classes that I hope Janet will offer in the future!!!
