Taking it a bit slow this week with work. Spring bringing on new changes and shedding the old that doesn't serve me well.

April brings on a lot of grief for me. I don't have a single thought for most of the year. I think I'm particularly good tucking those feelings away but once spring comes around I can feel it physically and can't put it into words and then I'm like "oh ya"

Just taking a moment to honour my dad. Last week I had to put work on pause to push through his anniversary and just focus on some self care. He was my number one cheerleader and always reminded me how much of a fighter I am and how proud he was of me. I don't think I would be where I am today with my sewing if it wasn't for him!

Reminder to listen to your body and take a minute to do something nice for yourself. However that looks.

Love ya dad❤️

HI ALL!!! If you're new here or maybe curious a bit about of my repair background/repair work I thought it may be time fill you in a bit!!!

2014 I started an internship working on various garments at a local tailor shop (now a community hub for lessons!). I then began working as a tailor and repair specialist at a denim boutique here in Toronto. I then was hired on doing both denim repairs at the tailor shop while working at the boutique, where eventually promoted to Manager and head repair and tailor person.

I didn't go to school for this. It was all self taught. I was pumping through all sorts of brands where I used my problem solving skills while I worked on everything. I learned extensive knowledge about types of denim and fits that helped me understand how the body and fabric can wear through the piece that helped me approach every single unique repair.

My repairs are always reinforced and anchored to prevent damage surrounding the worn in area or hole. I've mastered a type of darning technique with a single stitch industrial where I use clean donated scrap denim to repair it with. The type of scrap, how I place the scrap and how I do my stitches gives mobility with the denim for a lasting repair.

It's now been just over a decade of denim restoration and I'm still learning and some times get in repairs that are a challenge but that's what I love about this! I never get bored.

If you're curious about a repair feel free to inquire. I always provide my repair approach in each inquiry and go over more details during your drop off appointment.
