What and where the products came from?

Atomy’s products come from a collaboration of two companies:

The Korean Atomic Energy Institute (KAERI) and Korea Kolmar. Together they teamed up to launch an institutional venture company named Sun Bio Tech.

In 2006, Sun Bio Tech became the first institutional venture company to be approved by Korea's Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology.

Kolmar Korea runs 9 different labs for cosmetics research and development: skin care lab, makeup lab, personal care lab, skin science lab, Beijing lab, global technology centre, fragrance lab, and package design lab. Through the research teams, they acquired 9 different local & global certificates. Kolmar registered over 3,600 functional cosmetics approvals for wrinkle care, brightening (whitening), sun care, and multiple functional formulas. In terms of the patents, they have over 900 patents, utility models, and design application & registration as well.

Some of the Korean brands produced by Kolmar are Innisfree, Nature Republic, Etude House, Too Cool For School, Dr.Jart, A.H.C, the SAEM, Missha, Thank You Farmer, Erborian, It's Skin, SKIN79, Goodal, Scinic, 3CE, KLAVUU, Hanskin, The Face Shop, Huxley.

Did you notice how we said “Korean brands”? Well, here’s something you might not know! In fact, many Western brands outsource research and even production from these two companies mentioned above.

For example, the known overseas clients of Cosmax and Kolmar are Lancôme, Loreal, Shu Uemuera, Helena Rubinstein, Maybelline, Yves Saint Laurent, Johnson & Johnson, Herbalife, Mary Kay, Avon and the list goes on and on.
Kolmar and Cosmax are the Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), companies which create new product designs and specifications based on the product idea brief provided by the client. In most cases, ODMs also manufacture the product they design, and their clients get the products branded in their own name to sell them in the market.
