Keep in mind that the number of units you need depends on the treatment site, strength of the associated muscles, goals of treatment and wrinkle depth.

This client's goal was to diminish forehead lines that were visible at rest. It was her first time getting Botox and she was (understandably!) a bit nervous. We treated conservatively and after just two weeks, these fine lines have disappeared.

This client was bothered by fine frown lines that were starting to develop between the brows even at rest. Three days post-treatment and already significant improvement both in reducing muscle movement, and disappearance of fine lines at rest.

When you stop using Botox, your muscles will gradually start working as they did before you used the treatment.

You will eventually return to your baseline - meaning you will develop the wrinkles you had prior to treatment.

You won't be worse off, and the aging process does not accelerate as a result, so no harm done!

Some individuals may even notice permanent improvement in the appearance of wrinkles as their facial muscles have been trained to relax.

A Botox lip flip is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that can help you achieve a fuller upper lip without dermal filler.

The procedure involves Botox injections into your upper lip to relax the muscles and “flip” your lip upward.

It's a less invasive and (and less expensive) option than filler and is quite a bit more subtle!

The lip flip is a great way to make the lips appear fuller without adding volume or changing the shape.

The frontalis muscle is a large, vertically-oriented muscle in the forehead. It is responsible for raising the eyebrows.

Contraction of the frontalis is what causes the development of horizontal lines in the forehead, which can often appear at rest.

Treating this area with Botox prevents the development of (or fades existing) forehead lines.

That frozen and expressionless look can come from either too much Botox (think: more units = less movement) or improper injection technique.

First time getting Botox? Your injector should start with a lower dose and gradually build up if necessary to ensure you are comfortable with your results. (Remember: Botox is not permanent!)

Unlike fillers, Botox does NOT change your face shape. It is not adding volume, only weakening some strong facial muscles that can cause wrinkles.

The glabella, one of the most common Botox treatment sites, is the part of the forehead between the eyebrows. The glabellar lines are commonly referred to as "the 11s" or frown lines.

Glabellar lines are often the first fine lines to appear on the forehead, usually in one's mid-20s or early 30s.

Treating this area relaxes the muscles that form these lines, creating a smoother look and minimizing the potential for permanent wrinkles down the road.

A properly trained practitioner knows which muscles to inject and avoid, allowing you to retain a natural appearance without the heavy lines.

Botox is not a permanent treatment. Most clients find that the muscle-relaxing effects last about 3 to 4 months.

Factors affecting longevity of treatment include client age, metabolism, activity levels and size/depth of wrinkles.

The temporary nature of Botox lends itself to a safer anti-aging treatment option as it provides clients and clinicians with the opportunity to assess results and adjust aesthetic goals.
