The 5-year age gap is one of the most magical things about my children.

My oldest is old enough to truly understand that there is a tiny new life in our home.
She knows she’s a big sister now.
She wants to be part of his world.
She helps feed him and brings me diapers or wipes without being asked.
She’s not ready to change him yet, but she’s always looking for ways to help.

Watching her play with him is one of my favorite parts of motherhood.
She makes him smile with silly faces and gentle hugs.
She’s curious about him and cares for him in ways that feel so pure and tender.
Seeing her love him, protect him, and include him in her world fills my heart in ways I cannot put into words.

That five-year age gap has given them a connection that is nurturing, protective, playful, and full of love. 💛
