It will be two years in December since I found my dad dead in my childhood home and this day.. his funeral.

I spoke at both of my parents funerals.
One of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

I havent watched this before. I haven’t thought about my speech or that moment in nearly 2 years. But here’s part of it.

Because this is real life.
This is grief.
And the more we talk about it the more we feel less alone in it.

Did you talk at your parents / loved ones funerals?

We filmed this for my dad’s friends overseas and across country who couldn’t attend in person. My partner has kept the footage for me if I ever wanted to watch it.

my parents will miss my wedding, miss me becoming a mother.. these ones are the most painful for me.

my mom had already missed every graduation. me becoming an adult. every moment really.
losing a parent young hits different… all the milestones that are missed adds an extra layer of grief.
