My hair story started at a young age, growing up in my mother’s hair salon. The “Getting my hair done” was an experience I always got to see or even experience myself.

My exposure to the salon environment was more than just seeing beautiful hair transformations, various techniques, styles, deep conversations/ advice sessions, encouragement, learning the foundation of a community, and running a small business.

My mother instilled self-love and acceptance of who I was (as a young black girl) and how I wanted to wear my hair (by never forcing the use of chemicals or other alternatives that I didn’t feel comfortable in)
