All The Right Oils

Essential oils (certified pure and tested grade, aka pharmaceutical quality) are amazing substances.

A recent laboratory study evaluated constituents of essential oils--trans-cinnamaldehyde (cinnamon bark), phenylethyl alcohol (rose), alpha-asarone (calamus), and beta-caryophyllene (copaiba)--as a potential way to combat Alzheimer's disease. They found that these constituents can interfere with the formation of the harmful proteins in the brain, changing their structure and preventing them from clumping together. By using lab techniques to analyze these protein changes, they observed that these natural compounds show promise in preventing the progression of Alzheimer's, suggesting that aromatherapy might offer a new and natural approach to treatment.

Sharing key parts of our essential oil protocol for return to normal…

Last week we both got ill. I was first and then Derek got it a few days later. Spoiler alert…we’re both better and clear.

1. On Guard + softgels daily. We swear by them to help our immune system do its thang.

2. Easy air blend + lavender in the bedside diffuser

3. Diffuse on Guard blend to cleanse the communal air

4. In the first picture we are doing a steam inhalation with essential oils to support our respiratory system, clear the gunk, breathe easier and feel better.

This couldn’t be easier.

*caution…make sure your nose isn’t too close the the boiling water to avoid discomfort
* 10-15 minutes is a good duration
*An oily steam 1-2x/day when you’re dealing with respiratory illness is a great way to support your lungs and sinuses to do what they do best…ie. clearing varmint from your respiratory tract and body.
