Happy Easter! On this anniversary of Luke's birthday, I've re-submitted our application for a tree planting to happen this fall in Dufferin Grove park. Fingers crossed that things are up and running again by then. Sending our love to everyone, especially to all the stylists and salons who have been shut down for so long now. We miss our good hair days!

Today seems fitting for an update. Two years have flown by since the salon last closed its doors. 2020 itself has flown by, thank goodness, and we hope the next year will bring good news in the world. Everyone's response to the fundraiser we did in April/May for Luke's tree was awesome. Then of course Covid shut down all city operations for quite some time. The money is in the bank, awaiting the go-ahead. Right now perhaps we can hope for a spring planting. If not, then we shall gather next fall and celebrate with our memories of Luke. The tree will become a symbol of new life, which we will all hopefully find once this time comes to pass. I trust you are all well and staying safe. I think of Luke every day, but today is particularly poignant. Here is a photo that may have made the cut (though he did not approve of many photos I took of him). A rare moment of relaxation at the cottage.
