After 20 wonderful years, I have decided to close Medulla & Co.
This moment has been years in the making…
Two years ago, I sat down with my team and told them plainly: everything good comes to an end, as I wanted to give them ample time, to prepare mentally and financially, to make plans for when today would arrive. 
Once I shared the news that the time had come, there was panic. And while I would have preferred to do this a different way with a longer transition, here we are.

Last year, some of the people who had meant the most to me showed me a side I wasn’t prepared for. It was heartbreaking — but it also gave me the clarity I needed. Leading up to the salon’s 20th anniversary, I started asking myself: is this what I want the next chapter of my career to look like? And I realized it wasn’t.

I’ve opened and closed five locations, created an award winning product line, employed hundreds of people and mentored dozens of others who are now thriving in their own right. I’ve had the privilege of working with music, film and television stars - everyone from royalty to my local celebrities. A full, extraordinary career, and I say that with nothing but gratitude. THERE IS NO ITCH LEFT TO SCRATCH
Somewhere along the way, focusing on the administration stole the very thing that made me fall in love with this industry.
Two months ago, I started scouting out new homes for the remainder of my team. And in that process, I met an artist named Artin. In 34 years in this industry, I’ve met people born with natural talent, and people who have learned the trade to the highest level. But once in a generation, you meet someone who makes you excited about hair all over again. Artin is one of those people. I am joining him and his team, not just to help build out his colour department, but to invest in watching him grow and thrive. I am thrilled.
Today was my first full day working alongside Artin, my heart was full and it was the lightest I have felt in years. I cannot wait for you to experience it with me.
My north star has always been my clients — and now, finally, I get to focus on exactly that. The work. The joy. The community. You.
