It has been hard to build my business during this pandemic, but I have been continually growing my knowledge on proper sanitization and disinfection procedures as well as improving my lashing techniques. Over the past few days, I decided to take the time to educate myself further within the beauty industry. These five certificates expanded my knowledge around the proper health and safety guidelines that all beauty service providers should be knowledgeable on. As an lash technician, I want my clients to know that I am following all the appropriate guidelines and maintaining a safe and clean environment at all times.

The biggest myth is that lash extensions ruin your own lashes. They do not. If applied correctly and properly, they are safe and do not ruin the health of your natural lashes. Be sure not to rub your eyes or tug or pull on the extensions because this can cause lash loss and even damage to your natural lashes. If lashes are applied properly and to each individual lash, they won’t fall out. ▪️Classic Set ($70)

What are Fills and why do you need them?
Just like getting your nails done, you start off by your initial full set. In 2-3 weeks your nails grow and it’s time to fill them.
The same goes for lash Extensions. You start off with your initial first set. In 2-3 weeks (14-21 days) your lashes will grow and shed and new ones will need to be applied to fill in the gaps. In the natural shedding cycle we lose 2-5 natural lashes a day.
Your lash shedding will be more noticeable when wearing extensions. Don’t be alarmed when you see an extension shed and one of your natural lashes is attached. This is completely normal!
For this reason, it is recommended you come in anywhere between 2- 3 weeks for a fill. When you come in for a fill, it is important you still have 50-60% of your lashes remaining. The timing of this will be different for every client. Anything after 21 days, you will need a Full set.
How do you prepare for a fill?

This is very important! Please come in with squeaky clean lashes. Although I do a quick cleanse and prime, I cannot do a deep cleaning at every service without booking extra time. A deep cleaning for a client that has not been cleaning their lashes and wears a lot of makeup can take up to 30 min, this is time consuming for an already lengthy service. Keeping the extensions clean is the clients responsibility. If you have not had time to clean your lashes, please book a lash bath along with your fill. This will assure extra time is booked for a deep cleaning. In certain occasions, where there has been a lack of proper care, a lash bath with not be enough and a new set will be needed.

One question I get very often is, “Should I take a break from extensions?” and my professional opinion is this: ⁣
As long as your extensions are being applied correctly (the safest length/diameter for your natural lash) then no!⁣
I have some clients who’ve gone years with lash extensions and their naturals look amazing, which is what allows them to continue getting fills.
