SMP Before and After 1 and 2 treatments. Notice how we have doubled up the number of microdots from the first treatment, to the second treatment. It is all about layering dots, not just adding as many as you can.

This is a before and after a clients first treatment and second treatment. At SMC it is all about layering density, until we reach full density. This requires a minimum of three treatments.

The first treatment is all about creating the clients Hair line, and peppering the whole scalp. We ask the client to come in 1-2 weeks later for their second treatment. Now, we add another layer of density, and start to build the temples, and blend. The third treatment is about adding more density, where needed, and to touch up any areas that have faded. We also continue to blend the simulated, pigmented hair follicles, with the clients own hair.

This client came in after a year for his touch up to keep the hair follicles looking nice and bright. SMC pigments fade after 1-3 years leaving little or no residue from the ink. Some clients come in once a year to keep the look of the SMP bright and tight, others like it to fade a little before coming in. It's a matter of client preference.

Why not use permanent ink? Simple. Permanent ink is not ideal because they are unstable and tend to change color and migrate, causing a more solid look, rather than individual, simulated hair follicles.
