To help commemorate its 100th anniversary, Navy Pier underwent an extensive $115 million renovation intended to renew its architectural, cultural, environmental, and recreational landscape while expanding the Pier’s audience. Known as the Centennial Vision, this plan advocates more evening and year-round entertainment, more compelling landscape and design features, and a more engaging relationship between visitors and the water.
Upon entry, the focal point of the Park is a dramatic interactive fountain plaza. In collaboration with James Corner Field Operations, Fluidity Design Consultants designed and engineered the new interactive fountain for Polk Brothers Park, which consists of a ring array of arching jets nestled within an innovative, sloping convex landform. The 147 NEF Series jets are programmed to mimic complex algorithmic patterns like waves, schools of fish, or flocks of birds. In the center of the plaza, an intricate system of flush mounted LED007 Series lights and more nozzles help create an ambient space, alive in color at night.
The rhythmic outer patterns of the jets can expand either outward or back from the circle’s circumference, with the delicate streams of water and accompanying splash zones illuminated by LEDs.

A true “river town”, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is situated at a unique convergence of waters unlike any other in the world. The Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio rivers that meet in downtown Pittsburgh are part of a vast watershed and make up close to 40 miles of river shoreline within the city limits.
Founded in 1974, the 36-acre park has recently undergone a $40 million revitalization including upgrading “The Point”, a historic fountain that has become the focal point of the city’s skyline and symbol of the city’s connection to the rivers.
The fountain was upgraded and re-opened to huge fanfare in a grand opening ceremony in June 2013, making it Pittsburgh’s newest setting for day-to-day enjoyment and large-scale special events for generations to come.
The water feature and surrounding landscape have been restored and enhanced, including additional seating, raised water feature base, cascade waterfall and new plumbing and electrical systems.
The refurbished water feature contains two rings of water with over 300 of Crystal’s LED color-changing lights.
The center burst jet can shoot water a spectacular 200 feet in the air, all controlled by a wind meter.

"I knew my favourite feature would be Navy Pier after going on-site to see the park come to life with my own eyes. When you're working on projects, it takes time to visualize the impact of space-making. So when I was up on the Ferris wheel at Polk Brothers Park, I got an overview of the entire space and immediately felt liberated seeing the different people playing with water."

Inaugurated in 1896 at the core of the Old Québec District, Place De L’Hôtel De Ville, also known as Québec City Hall, serves a community that has strong ties to the history of their home, and a deep connection to their roots, their French culture, and each other. Officially designated as a National Historic Site of Canada in 1984, Québec’s Place De L’Hôtel De Ville recently underwent a 21 million-dollar renovation to breathe new life into this notable community space, and to celebrate the city’s 400th birthday.
Now, Place De L’Hôtel De Ville is home to a different form of interactive fun; a lively and engaging water feature that promotes play and serves as an exciting justification for the community to gather at the heart of this captivating city.
Over 40 customized jets with fog effects and colourful LED lights animate the City garden as visitors run through the refreshing streams or sit nearby admiring the view.

Water features of all kinds are an integral part of French gardens, and at the Garden of Versailles, exquisite visuals are rendered by waterfalls amongst the groves, spurts of water in the fountains, and the calm surface of the water reflecting the sky and sun in the Water Parterre or the Grand Canal.
In an effort to recreate the grandiose and royal atmosphere of the olden times, the gardens, and its fountains, are currently being transformed under a 3 year renovation project. The expert French lighting design firm Les Eclairagistes Associates (LEA) has brought Crystal on-board, to provide lighting design advice and equipment to illuminate these fountains, thereby enhancing the appeal of these water features and sculptures. In order to create the desired lighting appeal, Crystal supplied each individual water effect and sculpture with its own light source, and this was achieved by upgrading each fountain with modern submersible LED lighting.

"At the beginning of my career at Crystal Fountains, I was brought on board to a project by our president Darcy which is my favourite feature to this day.
The Texas Ranger Stadium, located between Globe Life Field and Texas Live, was one of my first complicated and custom projects. Our efforts to create a custom solution, including custom engraving and incorporating the Texas Ranges colour into the programming, was an experience I'll never forget.
Texas Rangers Stadium was a project that showed me how a personal and custom touch can drive success for our clients." - Harleen Kang
