DO HAIR EXTENSIONS DAMAGE MY OWN HAIR?

Hair extensions can be used a lifetime and will never cause damage if the correct product and method is used also proper care by the client.

My clients and myself find that their own hair is longer and healthier after their extensions are removed.
It is extremely important that the extensions are properly maintained.

When people say “extensions damage your hair” that’s because they weren’t professionally removed or not taken care of.

You have to do maintenance on the hair within the time frames—You can’t take extensions that were meant for six weeks and wear them for three months.

Protect your extensions by waiting until they’re mostly dry to use heat styling tools, and avoid using those directly on the tape and keratin bonds.
Then apply heat protection and use a hair dryer on a low heat setting.

How often should you deep condition your hair ? 🙋🏼‍♀️💁🏼‍♀️

It’s so important for us to deep condition our hair especially durning the winter months as it drys out our hair and can cause breakage. I would recommend adding a treatment to your weekly routine✨

How To Care For Tape-In Hair Extensions:

⚡️Wait 48 Hours Before Washing Your Hair – Not getting your hair wet for 48 hours will allow the tape-ins to fully bond.

⚡️Avoid Conditioning The Bonds – Too much conditioner and hair treatments can start to break down the bonds, so conditioning your hair from mid-shaft to the ends will help prevent this and make your hair last longer!

⚡️Use A Wet Brush To Avoid Tangles –A Wet Brush is gentle enough to brush through the extensions and will prevent tangles! Doing this at least twice a day will prevent tangles and keep your extensions easy and stress-free. I like to hold my hair and start from the bottom and move to the top, that way I can control the amount of pull on my ends

⚡️Limit The Amount Of Times You Wash Your Hair A Week – Not only will this help lengthen the lifespan of your extensions, it will also make life easier! Hair extensions take a lot longer to dry, so limiting the amount of washes will help speed along your daily routine. I tend to wash and style my hair extensions 2x per week, since the curls or having my hair straight hold for a couple days!
I would invest in a good dry shampoo.

⚡️Limit The Heat – Using a curling iron or straightener everyday can really break down extensions, so try to limit the amount of heat you use on your hair.

⚡️Sleep with your hair in a braid – Since tangles are the WORST with extensions, pulling your hair into a braid before bed will keep your hair tame and styled in the morning! Also, try avoiding sleeping with wet hair.
