Leaving an abusive relationship can be incredibly challenging due to a combination of emotional, psychological, and practical barriers. Victims often experience fear of retaliation, feelings of guilt or shame, which can make it hard to leave. Many feel isolated, groomed that it’s their fault by their abuser, unsure where to turn for support or worry about the consequences. People worry about the consequences on their children, children’s safety, or their own. The abuser may also manipulate the victim with tactics such as gaslighting, threats, creating confusion and doubt about their own reality. There are so many factors and tactics that break victims down that keep them feeling stuck, trapped or dependent on their abuser. Along with a lack of support networks, can make it nearly impossible to leave, even when the victim knows the relationship is harmful. If you or anyone close to you has been through a relationship like this- you know first hand how groundbreaking it is to finally never go back. Thank you for year three of Levesque Studio! Gratitude for all of you who have sat in my chair once, twice, or countless times this year. Our cute hair home would not be here without you ❤️. Our studio and our work together continues to keep me grounded and laughing. I fall in love over and over again with my job, it is always revealing and teaching me something new about hair itself or about people. Thank you for trusting me, telling me jokes, collaborating creatively with me and sharing your lives with me in small increments over the years. Here’s to another year of being sprung from the sink chair (and then apologizing to me like you did something wrong LOL) more bubly flavours, and HOT hair 🥵🥹
